The Miami Heat lost to the New Orleans Pelicans 109-94 at American Airlines Arena on Saturday night. The Heat, who had their two-game winning streak snapped, played for the second straight night at home.
Miami(17-16) had a slight lead 28-27 after one quarter and trailed 54-53 by halftime. New Orleans(17-16) outscored the Heat 27-16 in the third and led 83-69 heading into the fourth quarter.
Tyler Johnson had a game-high 20 points for Miami and Wayne Ellington contributed 13 points. Goran Dragic returned to the lineup after missing three games due to an elbow injury and dropped in 13 points. Ian Clark was the leading scorer for the Pelicans with 19 points. Anthony Davis compiled 17 points and six rebounds while DeMarcus Cousins had 16 points and seven rebounds.
