The National Hockey League released the schedule for the Florida Panthers on their upcoming 2018-19 season. The Panthers will play in their 25th anniversary NHL season. A major change will be the start time beginning at 7:00 PM instead of 7:30 PM for all contests from Monday through Saturday.
The Panthers begin the season on October 6 at Tampa Bay to face the Lightning. The Cats return home on October 11 and will host the Columbus Blue Jackets. They finish the season in Sunrise against the New Jersey Devils on April 6.
Florida will play all Atlantic Division teams twice at home. They include the Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres.
The defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals make their only South Florida appearance on April 1. Other Metropolitan Division clubs that will show up once includes the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers. The New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, Carolina Hurricanes and Columbus Blue Jackets will play twice in Sunrise.
The defending Western Conference champion Vegas Golden Knights take on the Panthers down here on February 2. All Western Conference teams make only one visit at BB&T Center with the exception of the Winnipeg Jets. The Panthers and Jets will play a home-and-home series of two games at the NHL Global Series in Helsinki, Finland on November 1 and November 2.
