The Atlanta Braves got their second victory of the day and beat the Miami Marlins 6-1 on Monday night at SunTrust Park. The Braves took the first game over the Fish in the doubleheader 9-1.
In the first inning, Atlanta(66-51) broke out to a 2-0 lead. Ronald Acuna Jr. crushed a solo home run to center field on the first pitch. He happened to do the same thing in the earlier game on the first Bravos at-bat. Johan Camargo later singled into left to score Ozzie Albies.
They stretched it to a three-run margin in the bottom of the fifth. Freddie Freeman knocked in Acuna with a base hit to right field.
Miami(48-73) captured their only run of the contest in the sixth inning. Starlin Castro singled into left field which scored J.T. Realmuto.
The Braves responded with two runs in the bottom of the frame. Camargo scored on a Mike Foltynewicz single to right. Acuna then drove in Dansby Swanson with a base hit into right field. Freeman finished the scoring with a solo homer to right field on a 1-1 count during the seventh inning.
