The Miami Marlins were swept by the Philadelphia Phillies as they lost 5-3 at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday. The Marlins finished the road trip winless with a 0-6 record.
Philadelphia(63-48) would break up to a 3-0 lead in the sixth inning. Odubel Herrera hit a single into left field for Cesar Hernandez and Nick Williams to score. Maikel Franco followed with a single to left which brought in Carlos Santana.
Miami(46-67) answered back quickly in the top of the seventh. Derek Dietrich connected with a two-run homer to right field on the first pitch. Three batters later, Justin Bour blasted a solo home run to center on a 1-1 count to tie it up 3-3.
New Phillies acquisition Asdrubal Cabrera knocked a two-run homer over the right-field wall on 2-0 pitch which scored Williams. It was the second straight game that Cabrera hit a home run against the Fish.
