The Olympic Heights Lions host the Dwyer Panthers at Corey Lewis Stadium in Boca Raton on Friday night in a Class 7A, District 13 clash. The Lions upset the Panthers in Palm Beach Gardens last year.
Dwyer(4-1, 1-0) started out even with a win over Park Vista and a loss to Atlantic. The Panthers have recent victories as they beat Glades Central, Palm Beach Lakes and Palm Beach Gardens. They have outscored their opponents 177-64 this season and scored at least 40 points in their wins.
Gio Richardson gets the opportunity to control the offense as quarterback and can connect passes to wide receivers Tanner Franklin, Jamari Gaines, Myron Levy, Nic Jennings and Nick Bingo. Running backs James Meeks, Ernest Blackshear, Bobby Armes and Cedric Tucker will got their share of carries.
Olympic Heights(3-1, 1-0) began the season with wins over Boynton Beach and Spanish River. The Lions fell to Cardinal Newman and then stopped West Boca Raton last week. They have outscored teams 82-56 this year.
The Lions will rely on their passing game with Connor Hone at quarterback. Wide receivers Jack Coulson, Aaron Hughes and Ke'andre Hollis look to make catches down the field from Hone. Running back Nick Palmenteri is expected to get most of the rushing attempts.
