The Miami Marlins defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1 on Wednesday night at Marlins Park. The Marlins have won three of their last five games while the Phillies have fallen in four of their last five games.
In the second inning, Miami(56-84) got out in front 1-0. Lewis Brinson scored on an Austin Dean fielder's choice to short.
The Marlins made it 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth. Dean knocked in Derek Dietirch with a base hit into center field.
Philadelphia(73-66) scored a run in the eighth inning and were down 2-1. Asdrubal Cabrera singled into left-center field for Jose Bautista to cross the plate.
