It is bragging rights between two high schools in Boca Raton as the Spanish River Sharks travel and take on the Boca Raton Bobcats on Friday night. It is the first district contest for both teams in District 10 of Class 8A.
Spanish River(0-3) has been winless this season with losses to Cardinal Newman 49-14, Olympic Heights 42-7 and Suncoast 32-25. The Sharks have given up 40 points per game and the difficult task of playing three of their first four games of the regular season.
They will rely more on their passing game with Connor Tribby at quarterback along with wide receivers Blake Goldberg and Benny Alfonso.
Boca Raton(2-1) have home victories over Doral Academy 36-13, Boynton Beach 30-7 and look to contend for the district title. They have averaged almost 27 points per game this season.
Quarterback Michael Pratt looks to march the Bobcats down the field on offense. His main targets to connect with are expected to be wide receivers Deltavian Jenkins and Rashawn Faustine.
