The Miami Heat played their season opening game in Orlando on Wednesday night and were defeated by the Magic 104-101 at Amway Center. The Heat now head to Washington and face the Wizards tomorrow.
Miami(0-1) got in front 31-25 after one quarter and were down 54-51 at halftime. Both teams mainly stayed within distance of each other in the second half. The Heat were slightly behind 79-78 after three quarters and Orlando(1-0) scored the final couple of points at the end of the fourth quarter.
Dwyane Wade made his season debut with Miami for the first time in three years and contributed nine points with 11 rebounds. Goran Dragic was the leading scorer for the Heat with 26 points while Josh Richardson added 21 points. Hassan Whiteside compiled a double-double with 12 points and 18 rebounds. Aaron Gordon led the Magic with 26 points and 16 rebounds.
