The Kings Academy Lions visit Tallahassee and take on the Florida State University High Seminoles on Friday night in a Class 3A state semifinal. The winner of this game will play the victor in the other state semifinal between Chaminade-Madonna and Clearwater Central Catholic on December 8 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
Kings Academy(11-1) pulled out a 23-22 home victory over First Academy last week in the regional final. They topped Holy Trinity Episcopal 16-7 in a regional semifinal two weeks ago. The Lions have beaten their last three opponents by just a combined 11 points. TKA has outscored their opponents 436-142 this season and have not played a road game since October 19.
Look for Lions quarterback Justin Wake to help their offense march down the field. He has numerous options to connect passes with which includes wide receivers Cory Corteau, Drew Luchey, Jeremiah Scroggins, Isaac Scroggins, Mark Witzen and Milton Bayonne. Their rushing opportunities will be split between running backs Presley Almond and Dillon Larson.
Florida State University High(8-3) made it to the state semifinal last year and fell at Oxbridge Academy. The Seminoles shut out Pensacola Catholic 27-0 in a regional semifinal and downed Taylor County 30-22 in a regional final.
