The ratings were released for the Miami/Fort Lauderdale market and Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM took over as the top sports format radio station. The region showed this month that their are now four serious competitors in the region.
WAXY moved from a 0.8 to a 0.9 in the month. They finished on top alone for the first time since April. The Miami Heat continued with an adequate beginning and FIU football helped.
Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM went from a 0.9 to a 0.8 in November. The University of Miami Hurricanes football team and Miami Dolphins hit cold streaks in their regular seasons. It will be the final period with The Big O Orlando Alzugaray in the midday shift at that station.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM rose to a 0.3 after three straight months with a 0.2 mark. Carl Foster was let go after less than one month in the mid-afternoon spot. They still get an audience with the University of Florida Gators football team.
640 The Hurricane WMEN-AM jumped up to a 0.2 after having a 0.1 for the past three periods. The station based in West Palm Beach added an afternoon program with Andy Slater and reintroduced Kevin's Other Show with Kevin Rolston and Steve Diener in afternoon drive on Mondays.
