The Miami Marlins have signed relief pitcher Sergio Romo to a one-year deal. He compiled 25 saves with a 3-4 record last season with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Romo played his first nine seasons in the majors with the San Francisco Giants. He contributed to the club winning three World Series titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014. Romo helped end a 52-year drought in which the Giants had not won a championship since they moved to San Francisco in 1958.
