The Florida Panthers were blanked by the Dallas Stars 3-0 at BB&T Center on Tuesday night. The Panthers are in the middle of a seven-game home stand. Jamie McGinn made his season debut with the Cats after missing the first 54 games of the campaign.
The Panthers were shut out for the first time in 2018-19. They were the last club in the National Hockey League to go scoreless in a game this season.
Dallas(29-22-5) go a 1-0 lead with 8:13 left in the first period. Tyler Seguin made a pass from the Panthers blue line and Roope Hintz on the right wing. He returned the puck to the slot area where Seguin one-timed a backhand shot by Roberto Luongo. Alexamder Radulov was also credited with his 30th assist on the play.
The Stars made it 2-0 with 7:21 remaining in the second. Jamie Benn was behind the Florida(23-24-8) cage and centered the puck to Tyler Seguin in the crease. He put a square pass to his left and Esa Lindell scored on a wrist shot.
Florida pulled their goalie with around three minutes to go in the third period. Seguin would get his second goal of the contest and 24th goal of the season with 2:12 left as he put the puck into an empty net.
