Dwyane Wade passed Michael Jordan for the most blocked shots by a guard in NBA history with 1,052 as the Miami Heat beat the Atlanta Hawks 114-113 at on Monday night at American Airlines Arena. The Hawks have the fourth worst record in the Eastern Conference.
Miami(29-34) had a 32-31 advantage after the first quarter and the game was tied 61-61 at halftime. Both clubs were still even after three quarters 85-85. Atlanta(22-43) gave up a 15-4 run midway in the final quarter and fell short in the last seconds of the contest.
Wade led Miami with 23 points while Josh Richardson contributed 19 points. Justice Winslow dropped in 18 points and Dion Waiters added 14. Vince Carter had a team-high 21 points for the Hawks.
