The Miami Marlins edged the Washington Nationals 3-2 at Marlins Park on Friday night. The win for the Marlins snapped a four-game losing streak. The Fish have won three of their last 16 games.
Washington(9-9) scored first in the opening frame. Juan Soto singled into left field for Adam Eaton to score.
The Marlins evened the contest 1-1 in the bottom of the second. Starlin Castro scored on a fielding error by Ryan Zimmerman.
Miami(5-15) loaded the bases in the sixth inning. Pinch-hitter Martin Prado walked and Miguel Rojas crossed the plate for a 2-1 lead. Curtis Granderson came up next, was hit by a pitch and Isaac Galloway scored for a two-run margin.
The Nationals closed the gap in the seventh inning. Brian Dozier smashed a solo home run to left field on the first pitch.
