The Monarch Knights host the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs on Friday night. It is a non-district game between both Broward County schools.
Cardinal Gibbons(7-2) are the defending FHSAA Class 5A champions. The Chiefs have been victorious in seven of their last eight contests and they outscored their opponents 314-92 in that stretch. Brody Palhegyi will get to lead the Chiefs on offense and throw the ball to wide receivers Troy Stellato, Majon Wright, Jackson Marsielle and Bryson Williams. Running backs Tajae Davis and Coleman Bennett will get the majority of carries from the backfield.
Monarch(6-3) have lost their last two games which were to district rivals Boca Raton and Deerfield Beach. They won six of their first seven games of the season. Quarterback Peter Zamora hopes to find wide receivers Brady Brauner, Jaeden Alexis, Trevanti Keitt and Jaheim Carr for completions. Their rushing attempts will be split between Jerell Mash and Tyrese Carey.
