Jimmy Butler made his Miami Heat debut as they prevailed over the Atlanta Hawks 112-97 at American Airlines Arena on Tuesday night. Both teams will face each other again on Thursday night in a home-and-home series.
Miami(3-1) rushed out to a 29-26 by the end of the first quarter and remained ahead 59-49 at halftime. Atlanta(2-2) could not cut the gap and were down 88-70 after three quarters.
Tyler Herro had a team-high 29 points while Butler contributed 21 points for the Heat. Goran Dragic poured in 21 points and Bam Adebayo nailed a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. John Collins led the Hawks with a game-high 30 points.
