The Spanish River Sharks travel south to face the Deerfield Beach Bucks at Butler Stadium on Friday night in a District 12-8A contest. It is the first time ever that both schools will meet each other in the newly formed district.
Spanish River(0-6) have not won a game this season. They have surrendered at least 28 points in five of the six games and been outscored 200-47 this year. The Sharks fell to John I. Leonard, Suncoast, Park Vista, Olympic Heights, Monarch and Santaluces. Quarterback Drew Alexandris will be the focal point of their offense.
Deerfield Beach(4-2) is currently riding a four-game winning streak. The Bucks played Blanche Ely, Zachary, Oak Ridge and Boca Raton as they outscored their last four opponents 186-6. Running back Jaylan Knighton will get the majority of carries from the backfield. Quarterback Michael Pratt can connect passes to wide receivers Xavier Restrepo, Deajaun McDougle, Bryce Gowdy and Derohn King.
