The Miami Hurricanes defeated the Florida State Seminoles 27-10 at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday. The Hurricanes beat the Seminoles for the third straight season. Florida State won the previous seven meetings prior to that.
Miami went up 7-0 at 9:10 of the first quarter. Quarterback Jarren Williams fired a 39-yard down the left hash marks to wide receiver Jeff Thomas for the score.
Florida State put up some points early in the second quarter. Ricky Aguayo was able to kick a 37-yard field goal at the 10:15 mark.
The Hurricanes extended their lead to 14-3 with 3:58 left in the second. Running back DeeJay Dallas moved to the left side and dashed in on a touchdown run from six yards away. Camden Price booted a 29-yard field goal with no time remaining in the first half to give them a 14-point advantage.
In the third quarter, the Seminoles cut the margin down to 17-10. Quarterback Alex Hornibrook tossed a pass to the left side and running back Cam Akers scored from 18 yards out.
The Canes made it 24-10 with 12:10 to go in the fourth quarter. Williams threw a 56-yard bomb up the middle of the field to wide receiver Dee Wiggins. Miami would expand the gap to 17 points with a 32-yard field goal by Price with 6:27 left.
