The Palm Beach Lakes Rams downed the Palm Beach Gardens Gators 34-14 at Mullinax Ford Stadium on Friday night. The Rams finished the 2019 regular season undefeated and have won 17 straight regular-season contests.
Palm Beach Lakes(9-0) waited until 4:22 left in the first quarter to get on the scoreboard. Running back Antonio Outler, who transferred from Palm Beach Gardens earlier this year, rushed the ball in from one yard out.
In the second quarter, Palm Beach Gardens(7-2) was able to even up the game at the 6:22 mark. Running back Jabril Jarrett was given the start in the Gators backfield and he sprinted in from 12 yards away.
The Rams then rolled out 27 unanswered points against their opponent. On the first play of their next possession. Outler raced down the right hash marks and cut all the way to the left sideline on an 87-yard touchdown run at 5:55.
They made it 20-7 with 15.4 seconds remaining in the second. Quarterback Tre'von Taylor connected a 10-yard pass to wide receiver Jalen Jones in the back center of the end zone.
After no scoring by either school in the third, Palm Beach Lakes scored on the first play of the fourth quarter. Taylor found wide receiver Christopher Johnson in the back of the end zone on a five-yard toss at 11:54.
It became 34-7 for the Rams with 6:53 to go. Running back Derrick Lee pushed up the middle for a two-yard touchdown run.
The Gators capped the scoring with 34 seconds left in the game to make it 34-14. Jarrett went through the right side of the line and scored from seven yards away.
