The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders shut out the Atlantic Eagles 26-0 at Brian Piccolo Stadium on Friday night in a Class 7A regional final. They will face Venice for the fourth consecutive year in the state semifinal and host the contest in Fort Lauderdale next week.
There was limited scoring in the first half. St. Thomas Aquinas(12-0) got the only touchdown in the second quarter. Quarterback Zion Turner connected a 27-yard pass to wide receiver Marcus Rosemy on the left sideline.
In the third quarter, Turner found Rosemy on the right hash marks from 33 yards out in the front of the end zone to give STA a 14-0 lead.
The Raiders added a safety later in the quarter. Linebacker Derek Wingo knocked the ball from quarterback Jacoby Dorch in the end zone and it was received by left guard Fritz Pasterin. They also got a field goal from kicker William Vold.
Atlantic(8-4) gave up another touchdown with 2:41 remaining in the fourth quarter. Turner sprinted through the right side of the line from nine yards away for a 26-point margin.
