Former Florida Panthers interim head coach John Torchetti has been named an assistant coach with the Philadelphia Flyers for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign. Torchetti became interim head coach of the Florida Panthers during the 2003-04 season and replaced Rick Dudley. He coached 27 games and finished with a 10-12-4-1 record.
Torchetti also had interim head coaching stints elsewhere in the National Hockey League after being in Florida. He was the interim head coach of the Los Angeles Kings for 12 contests in 2005-06 and held the same post with the Minnesota Wild for 27 games in 2015-16.
