The Atlantic Eagles got by the Plantation Colonels 34-12 at Atlantic Stadium in Delray Beach on Monday night in a FHSAA Class 3M regional semifinal contest. The game was to occur last Friday night, however Hurricane Nicole prevented the Eagles to practice for two days last week. The Eagles will visit the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders, a three-time reigning FHSAA state champion, at Fort Lauderdale in the next round.
Plantation(7-4) scored first for a 7-0 advantage after one quarter and held a slight 12-7 lead at halftime. Atlantic(8-3) moved ahead 13-12 in the third quarter for the third lead change of the contest. The Eagles found the end zone three times in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter for a 34-12 lead.
