The Miami Marlins scored the winning run in the ninth inning to defeat the New York Mets 3-2 at Marlins Park on Friday night. Both clubs played a 16-inning game the day before.
Christian Yelich helped Miami(5-5) get ahead during the first inning. He hit a sacrifice fly to center field which scored Dee Gordon
New York(7-4) got to tie it 1-1 in the top of the third. Michael Conforto knocked in Curtis Granderson with a sacrifice fly to center. Lucas Duda added a solo home run on a 1-2 pitch in the top of the fifth to give the Mets a 2-1 lead.
The Fish made it 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth. Gordon singled into center field and brought in Miguel Rojas. The Marlins picked up the walk-off victory in their final at-bat in the ninth inning when J.T. Realmuto drove in Rojas with a double into center.
