The American Heritage Stallions defeated the Palm Beach Gardens Gators 14-7 in a two-quarter kickoff classic at The Corral on Friday night. Both school also played another two-quarter game later against the Piper Bengals.
Palm Beach Gardens got on the scoreboard at the 7:10 mark of the first quarter to make it 7-0. Backup quarterback David Studstill was brought in for just one play and threw a 20-yard touchdown pass on the left side to wide receiver Armani Hayes.
Amercian Heritage responded and tied the contest 7-7 on their next possession. Running back Adeles Smalls busted through the right side of the line and scored from eight yards away.
In the second quarter, Smalls rambled for a 52-yard gain to the Gators eight-yard line. Three plays later, wide receiver Micangelo Joseph caught a nine-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone from quarterback Ryan Rizk on the right side of the end zone with 6:15 left in the second quarter.
