The ratings for the Miami/Fort Lauderdale market were released and Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM finished on top of all sports format radio stations for the fifth consecutive month. All three local competitors saw improvement with an increased social buzz as the region did host the 2017 All-Star Game at Marlins Park in Miami.
The Ticket moved from a 0.8 to a 0.9 in July. They were able to broadcast the 88th All-Star Game and the Home Run Derby with former Florida Marlins radio voice Jon "Boog" Sciambi as the play-by-play announcer on ESPN Radio.
Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM bumped up from a 0.7 to a 0.8. It had to due with the beginning of Miami Dolphins training camp.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM went from a 0.1 to a 0.2 in the period. They improved from their lowest ratings of the calendar year in June.The festivities of the All-Star Game did help the flagship station of the Miami Marlins.
