National Signing Day was Wednesday for high school football players in Broward County. There was less luster this year because students were allowed to sign early letters of intent on December 21.
The two-time defending FHSAA Class 5A champion American Heritage was one of the schools that did not have many players sign immediately when early national signing began in December. Some of their top players did make their decisions on Wednesday. Defensive back Patrick Surtain Jr. selected Alabama, defensive back Tyson Campbell announced Georgia, defensive lineman Nesta Silvera selected Miami and defensive lineman Andrew Chatfield went with Florida.
The Patriots district rivals Cardinal Gibbons also had several players make their announcements. Running back Jordan Riggins picked Morgan State, kicker Griffin Cerra took Southern Illinois, defensive lineman Evan Loesel choose Columbia. linebacker Ryan Saddler moves to Bryant and offensive lineman Cameron Stage heads to Bowling Green.
