It was national signing day for high school football players in Palm Beach County. There was less buzz this year because of an early signing period that began on December 21 for players to sign letters of intent.
FHSAA Class 8A state finalist Atlantic had several people make their decisions. Wide receiver/defensive back Corey Gammage selected Marshall while wide receiver/running back Cadarius Gaskin announced Florida International. Defensive back Christian Brown decided on Princeton. Running back Shelley Singletary and wide receiver/punt returner Oyeh Lurry-Davis went with Independence Community College.
The other school in Delray Beach also made a splash. American Heritage quarterback Ryan Rizk is heading to Miami. Defensive back/wide receiver Marcell Quince is going to Mississippi College.
The Muck was represented by several players. Glades Central offensive lineman Willie Canty travels to Nebraska and defensive back Trey Green choose Central Florida. Pahokee wide receiver Keke McFadden moves to Kent State.
Palm Beach Lakes had defensive back/wide receiver C.J. Smith, who played for FHSAA Class 3A state finalist Oxbridge Academy in 2017, select Nebraska while defensive back/running back Teja Young goes down to Florida Atlantic and defensive back Jakari Staling agreed with South Dakota.
Elsewhere in north Palm Beach County, Dwyer defensive lineman Dalton Hustadd stays local at Florida Atlantic, wide receiver Andrew Kasten selected Drake and linebacker Brendan Parr choose Keiser. Suncoast quarterback Ryan Lantz is heading for Georgia Tech.
