The New York Mets got by the Miami Marlins 4-3 at Marlins Park on Sunday. The Marlins have lost 10 of their last 12 games.
Both clubs scored in the first inning. The Mets got a Wilmer Flores sacrifice fly to center that scored Amed Rosario. The Fish tied it up at 1-1 when Starlin Castro brought in Rafael Ortega on a single to left field.
New York(49-66) pulled ahead in the top of the second. Jose Reyes smacked a two-run homer to left field on a 1-2 count that brought in Jose Bautista.
Miami(48-71) put up a run during the fourth inning. Bryan Holaday knocked in Derek Dietirch with a base hit into left.
In the sixth inning, Michael Conforto gave the Mets a 4-2 margin as he lifted a solo home run to right field on a 1-2 count. The Marlins answered in the bottom of the frame as Martin Prado scored on a Holaday single to center field.
