The Miami Dolphins handled the Oakland Raiders 28-20 at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday. The Dolphins now lead the AFC East Division by two games over the New England Patriots, New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.
Oakland(0-3) drew first blood in the opening quarter. Quarterback Derek Carr connected a 12-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jordy Nelson at the 13:39 mark.
Miami(3-0) made it into the end zone at 12:17 of the second. Quarterback Ryan Tannenhill found wide receiver Kenny Stills on a 34-yard touchdown toss to tie it 7-7.
The Raiders pulled ahead on a 25-yard field goal by Mike Nugent with 3:35 left in the first half. They made it a 17-7 gap as running back Marshawn Lynch blasted in from one yard out at 3:01 of the third quarter.
The Dolphins got rolling with 21 unanswered points on three touchdowns. Wide receiver Jakeem Kent caught an 18-yard touchdown from Tannenhill with 1:01 left in the third. The Fins reached the end zone again with 7:30 remaining in the fourth quarter when Albert Wilson fired a 52-yard pass to Grant for a 21-17 lead. Tannenhill later fired a 74 yard bomb to Wilson with 2:11 to go in the contest.
Nugent kicked a 52-yard field goal for Oakland with 25 second remaining to cut the deficit down to 28-20, however it was too late.
