The Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Hornets 117-100 on Monday night at American Airlines Arena. The Heat played their third contest in the last four days.
The Heat took a 36-31 lead at the end of one quarter and Miami(12-4) expanded the gap to 69-58 by halftime. Charlotte(6-12) saw a bigger deficit after three quarters 98-82.
Jimmy Butler had a game-high 21 points for the Heat while Kelly Olynyk put together a double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds. Bam Adebayo chalked up 21 points and Kendrick Nunn added 19. Terry Rozier drained in a team-high 19 points for the Hornets.
