The Miami/Fort Lauderdale ratings were issued for sports talk radio stations. 560 WQAM-AM was ahead for the fourth straight month in the market.
WQAM jumped from a 1.2 to a 1.4 in the period. The powerhouse weekday lineup of Joe Rose, Dan Le Batard, Marc Hochman and Channing Crowder has caused the station to gain almost a full share in the past four months. The Florida Panthers started the NHL season better than expected while the Miami Dolphins get their first win of the year.
Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM moved from a 0.5 to a 0.7 in the month. The Miami Heat rocketed out to a great start to begin the NBA season. People have gotten use to the change in the weekday schedule as their audience has more than doubled in the past two months. It will be the final complete period of Brian "The Beast" London co-hosting mornings with Brendan Tobin and Leroy Hoard.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM remained the same with a 0.3 for the sixth time in the last seven months. The station continued its stability with University of Florida football broadcasts and Jeff DeForrest in the morning shift.
Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM rose from a 0.1 to a 0.2. The New York Yankees finished with their playoff run along with good starts from Florida Atlantic University football and the Florida Panthers.
