Malachi Toney On Lindy's Sports Magazine Cover

     University of Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Malachi Toney is on the front cover of Lindy's Sports college football annual magazine. He was one of four players from Florida universities on the regional magazine cover. 
     Toney played high school football with the American Heritage Patriots and captured a FHSAA Class 4A state championship in 2024. He has been with Miami for one season in 2025 and led college football with 109 pass receptions. Toney helped the Canes reach the 2025 CFP National Championship Game against Indiana. 

Lionel Messi On World Soccer Magazine Cover

     Argentina and Inter Miami CF midfielder Lionel Messi is on the front cover of World Soccer magazine. The World Cup will begin in North America on June 11. 
     Messi led Argentina to the World Cup title back in 2022 capturing their overall third championship for that country. Messi has been with Inter Miami CF since July 2023. 

Mets Sweep Marlins

      The New York Mets pounded the Miami Marlins 10-1 at Citi Field on Sunday. The Marlins. who extended their losing streak to five games, will continue their nine-game road trip in Washington tomorrow.
      The Mets swept the three-game series this weekend. They leaped past the Fish in the standings.
     NewYork(26-33) raced out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Carson Benge led off with a solo home run to center field on a 1-1 pitch. It was Benge's fourth homer in the majors.
     The Mets expanded their lead to 3-0 in the second inning. Marcus Semien smacked a two-run homer to left field on the first pitch with Mark Vientos on base. It turned out to be Semien's fifth home run with his new team.
     Miami(26-34) made ot 3-1 in the top of the fourth. Owen Caissie doubled on the left-field line and Javier Sanoja reached home.
     New York responded with two runs during the bottom of the fourth fora 5-1 advantage. Luis Torrens knocked in A.J. Ewing and Brett Baty with a base hit through the right side.
      In the sixth, the Mets increased their lead to 10-1. It was capped by a Juan Soto grand-slam home run to right-center field on a 1-0 count for his 13th home run of the 2026 season. Torrens. Benge and Bo Bichette scored in front of him on the play.

Mets Drop Marlins

     The Nee York Mets disposed of the Miami Marlins 6-1 on Saturday at Citi Bank. It was the middle contest of a three-game series between both teams.
     New York(25-33) broke out to a 3-0 advantage in the bottom of the fourth. Mark Vientos drove in Juan Soto and Jared Young with a double to off the left-field fence. Two batters later, Marcus Semien picked up a base hit into center field which scored Vientos. 
     Miami(26-33) cut it to 3-1 in the top of the fifth. Liam Hicks singled through the right side and Christopher Morel scored. 
      The Mets increased their lead to 4-1 in the sixth inning. Young cracked a solo home run to right field in a 2-0 count for his first homer of the year.
      It became 6-1 for New York in the bottom of the seventh as they added two more runs. Hayden Senger got his first homer in the majors with a home run to left field on a 1-2 pitch. Three batters later, Soto knocked in Carson Benge on a base hit into center field.

Tyron Herring Signs With Browns

      Former South Florida high school quarterback Tyron Herring has signed a contract with the Cleveland Browns. He spent last season on the practice squads of the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers. 
     Herring split his time in high school football with two different teams. He replaced Lamar Jackson at the starting quarterback position with the Boynton Beach Tigers in 2015 and 2016. He shifted to the Deerfield Beach Bucks for two seasons in 2017 and 2018. 
     He was a quarterback and defensive back with Dartmouth College from 2019 to 2022. Herring played cornerback with the University of Delaware Blue Hens in 2023 and 2024. 

2026 Stanley Cup Final National Radio Broadcasts

     There will be Stanley Cup Final national game broadcasts on terrestrial radio this year on Sports USA. The 2026 Stanley Cup Final will begin on June 2 in Raleigh between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Vegas Golden Knights. 
     Sports USA has held the national terrestrial radio rights of the National Hockey League for the past six seasons. It will be their sixth consecutive year broadcasting the Stanley Cup Final contests.

Saints Waive Jeremiah McClendon

     The New Orleans have waived defensive back Jeremiah McClendon. He signed with the club as an undrafted free agent back in April. 
     McClendon participated in high school football with the Atlantic Eagles. He later went to Marshall University, Charleston Southern, Florida International University and Southern Illinois University.
