Nielsen released their new rankings for the top 253 radio markets by population in the United States. It coincides with the start of the spring 2022 radio ratings.
Miami dropped from 11th place to 12th place as it went to 4,096,900 for 12+ people. It consists of the Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood areas along with the Miami-Dade County and Broward County regions. The Seattle market leaped over Miami from 12th to 11th with 12+ population of 4,098,600.
The Miami market went from the 12th largest radio market to the 11th largest radio market in the fall of 2012. The region ended up jumping over Detroit at that time.
