Longtime Miami Herald sports columnist Bob Rubin passed away on Tuesday at the age of 76. Rubin worked for the newspaper from 1976 until he retired in 2002. Prior to arriving in Miami, he was a sportswriter at Newsday where he covered Long Island high school, college and pro sporting events.
Rubin has been a part of a lineage of sports columnists over the last 50 years at the Miami Herald. People who had a long tenure at that newspaper in a sports columnist role have included Edwin Pope, Dan Le Batard, Greg Cote and Linda Robertson.
