West Palm Beach Ratings February 2026

     The West Palm Beach area was handed the ratings for sports talk format radio stations. The time span went from the first week of February to the first week of March. 
     Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM stayed at a 0.3 for the fourth consecutive month. The FAU men's basketball team had a 17-13 mark. 
     Sports Radio 1230 The Gambler WBZT-AM remained with a 0.0 for the third straight month. The defending national champions the University of Florida Gators clinched the SEC regular season title with a 24-6 record. 
     ESPN West Palm 106.3 WESP-FM began their second season as the flagship radio station for Inter Miami CF Major League Soccer game broadcasts. Michael Rizzo replaced Ken LaVicka as the radio play-by-play announcer. 

Wild Drown Panthers

     The Minnesota Wild sneaked by the Florida Panthers 3-2 on Thursday night at Amerant Bank Arena. The Panthers are 14 points behind for the final Eastern Conference postseason spot with 11 games remaining. 
     It turned out to be a scoreless opening frame. Minnesota(41-20-12) took a 1-0 lead at the 2:47 mark of the second period. Marcus Foligno got his seventh goal of the year on a snap shot from the crease area.
     It became 2-0 for the Wild with 1:35 remaining in the second. Dmitry Kulikov backhanded a pass around his own cage off the end wall which was intercepted. Ryan Hartman picked up an unassisted tally on a wrist shot from the left goal line by Daniil Tarasov for his 17th goal of the season. . 
     Florida(35-33-3) cut it to 2-1 just 42 seconds into the third period. Sam Bennett zipped a pass from the left wing. Gustav Forsling fired a shot from the left point and Matthew Tkachuk deflected it in from the top of the crease for his 10th this year.
     The Panthers pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and tied it up 2-2 with 1:13 to go in the period. Tkachuk sent a diagonal pass from the right corner. Seth Jones angled a touch pass from the above the left circle and Aaron Ekblad one-time a slap shot from the left circle past Jesper Wallstedt for his fourth goal in 2025-26. 
     Minnesota regained the lead 3-2 with only 4.2 seconds left in the third. Brock Faber released a shot from the top of the zone which was saved. Joel Eriksson-Ek put in the rebound from the top of the crease for his 18th goal of the campaign.

Heat Silence Cavaliers

     The Miami Heat snapped a five-game losing streak with a 120-103 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night at Rocket Arena. Both teams will face each other in the same venue on Friday. 
     Miami(39-34) raced out to a 28-19 advantage after one quarter. The Heat expanded their lead during the second quarter and led 63-46 at halftime. 
     Cleveland(45-28) outscored their opponent 37-20 in the third quarter and tied it up 83-83 at the end of the frame. The Heat went on a 21-12 spurt until the midway point of the fourth quarter. 
     Norman Powell pumped in a team-high 19 points for the Heat. Bam Adebayo composed a double-double of 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Tyler Herro drained in 18 points while Kel'el Ware composed a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. 
     Donovan Mitchell finished with a game-high 28 points for the Cavaliers. James Harden chalked up 18 points, seven assists and nine rebounds. Sam Merrill answered with 18 points and Keon Ellis gathered 17 points.

Austin Slater Joining Marlins

     Outfielder Austin Slater will be heading to the Miami Marlins. He is about to sign a one-year contract with the club that is worth around $1 million. He opted out of a minor-league deal with the Detroit Tigers on Saturday. 
     Slater has been in the majors since the 2017 season. He played eight seasons with the San Francisco Giants. Slater has been with the Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees over the past two years. 

Eagles Pick Up Elijah Moore

     The Philadelphia Eagles have signed former Broward County high school football player Elijah Moore. It is a one-year contract between him and the team. 
     Moore played high school football with the St. Thomas Aquinas. He captured three FHSAA Class 7A state championships in 2014, 2015 and 2016. 
     He has been in the National Football League since the 2021 season. Moore has been with the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills. 

Tiger Woods & Jupiter Links GC Lose SoFi Cup

     Jupiter Links GC lost to Los Angeles Golf Club 9-2 in Match 2 of the SoFi Cup Finals on Tuesday night at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens. Los Angeles won the best-of-three series 2-0 and captured the second-season championship in TGL league history. 
     It was a case of their backs against the wall facing elimination for Jupiter Links GC. Tiger Woods decided to play for Jupiter for the first time since last season. 
     Jupiter Links GC rolled out to a 2-0 lead early in the contest. Los Angeles Golf Club broke the shutout during the sixth hole to even it up 2-2. They added another point on the seventh hole and eighth hole to move ahead 4-2. LAGC continued to roll with two more points on the ninth hole for a 6-2 advantage. 
     Woods threw the hammer down heading into the 10th hole when Jupiter Links GC was trailing by a significant amount. It did not work as Justin Rose was able to eagle on a long drive for three points to give Los Angeles Golf Club a commanding 9-2 lead. It was the third consecutive hole that LAFC scored an eagle. 

Los Angeles GC Tops Jupiter Links GC In Match 1

     Los Angeles Golf Club got by Jupiter Links GC 6-5 in Match 1 of the SoFi Cup Finals at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens on Monday night. LAGC leads the best-of-three series 1-0 and can wrap up the TGL championship on Tuesday. 
     It would come down to the final hole between both teams. Los Angeles Golf Club threw the hammer on the 13th hole and leaped into the lead with two points to make it 6-5. 

WQAM-FM New Miami Marlins Flagship Station

      104.3 Sports WQAM-FM has become the new radio flagship radio station of the Miami Marlins. It is a multi-year contract between the team and Audacy. 
     The Marlins first regular season game broadcast on WQAM-FM is Friday against the Colorado Rockies. Marlins contests with be shifted to sister-station 560 WQAM-AM if there is a timing conflict with Miami Heat or University of Miami Hurricanes games.  
     Jack McMullen continues as the radio play-by-play announcer and Stephen Strom as the radio studio host. Rod Allen will be the primary radio game analyst this season. 
     WQAM-AM held the Florida Marlins radio rights from their inaugural season in 1993 until 2007. Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM had the Florida Marlins and Miami Marlins game broadcasts from 2008 to 2013. Fox Sports 940 WINZ-AM was the recent radio home of the Marlins from 2014 to 2025.

Miami Ratings February 2026

     The Miami/Fort Lauderdale region received the ratings for sports talk format radio stations. The time span went from the first week in February to the first week in March. 
     104.3 Sports WQAM-AM fell from a 1.1 to a 1.0 in the month. The Florida Panthers did not play for three weeks due to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. They were 30-28-3 for the second worst record in the Eastern Conference. The Miami Heat were in contention for a postseason spot. 
     Fox Sports 940 WINZ-AM moved from a 0.4 to a 0.3 in the period. The reigning national champions the University of Florida Gators men's basketball team had a 24-6 record and won the SEC regular season title. WZTU-FM-HD2 with the WINZ stream remained at a 0.1. 
     Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM changed after three months with a 0.2 to a 0.1. The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball squad was with a 17-13 record. 

Panthers Escape Kraken

     The Florida Panthers got by the Seattle Kraken 5-4 in a shootout at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday night. Both teams met each other in Seattle nine days ago. 
     Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad participated in his 800th career contest. Panthers head coach Paul Maurice coached his 2,000th NHL game, which is second all-time to Scotty Bowman. Florida goalie Sergei Bobrovsky passed Curtis Joseph for seventh all-time in goalie victories with 455. 
     The Panthers were coming off a four-game Western Conference road trip. The Cats started off a two-game homestand. Cats forward Noah Gregor made his first NHL appearance since January 8. 
     Neither club scored during the first period. Florida(35-32-3) got on the scoreboard at the 2:32 mark of the second period for a 1-0 lead. Gustav Forsling cycled the puck around the boards from behind his own cage. Gregor streaked down the left side of the ice, went into the Seattle(31-29-10) zone and angled a pass from the top left circle. Nolan Foote tapped in a shot from the top of crease past Joey Daccord for his first goal of the year. It was the first tally for Foote in a Panthers jersey. 
     In the third period, the Cats expanded their lead to 2-0 at 5:16. Evan Rodrigues fired a one-time slap shot from the high slot which was blocked. Vinnie Hinostroza backhanded a shot from the low right circle that went off the shaft of Eetu Luostarinen's stick on the right side of the crease and into the net for his ninth goal of the campaign. 
     It became 3-0 for the Panthers at the 7:37 mark of the third. Carter Verhaeghe collected his 21st goal of the season when he banked a shot from the left corner off Daccord. 
     The Kraken answered back quickly 33 seconds later and trailed 3-1. Jordan Eberle slid a pass from the left point. Ryker Evans blasted a slap shot from the top of the zone. It bounced off the back wall and went off the left skate of Bobrovsky for his eighth goal in 2025-26. 
     The Cats reclaimed a three-goal margin 4-1 with 7:39 to go in the third. Gregor skated with the puck from the neutral zone to the left wing. His centered pass was redirected by Shane Wright in the crease area for his second goal this year. 
     Seattle mounted a comeback with three goals down the stretch to tie it up 4-4. Matty Beniers chalked up his 19th goal with 5:43 remaining, Eberle placed in an unassisted goal for his 23rd tally of the season with 3:36 to go and Bobby McMann ended up with his 24th goal this season with 3:22 left in the third period. 
     After no scoring in overtime, Florida was victorious in the shootout. Hinostroza converted on the Panthers second attempt with a backhand shot.

Travis Homer Goes To Steelers

     Former Palm Beach County high school football player Travis Homer has agreed to a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The cost is expected to be near the league minimum for running backs. 
     Homer was a running back with the Oxbridge Academy Thunderwolves while in high school. He eventually became a part of the University of Miami Hurricanes college football team. 
     He was selected in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Homer played in four seasons with the Seahawks from 2019 to 2022 followed by three seasons with the Chicago Bears from 2023 to 2025. 

Robert Jones Ends With 49ers

     One-time Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Robert Jones has inked to a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers. He was with the Dallas Cowboys last season, however he never played a contest with them due to a neck injury. 
     The only NFL regular season playing experience Jones has was with the Fins from 2021 until 2024. He was able to participate in 49 games during his four seasons with Miami. 

Spurs Waltz Around Heat

     The San Antonio Spurs slaughtered the Miami Heat 136-111 at Kaseya Center on Monday night. The Heat are in a six-game stretch in which they have interchanged home and away games.
     Miami(38-34) found themselves down 38-31 at the end of the opening quarter. San Antonio(54-18) poured on the pressure during the second quarter and led 76-58 at halftime. 
     The Spurs continued their torrid pace and were ahead 108-81 at the conclusion of the third quarter. Reserve players were brought into the game midway through the fourth quarter. 
     Tyler Herro ended up with 18 points for the Heat. Bam Adebayo added 18 points and Norman Powell contributed a team-high 21 points. 
     Victor Wembanyama composed a double-double for the Spurs with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Stephon Castle powered in 19 points while Keldon Johnson drained in 21 points.

Inter Miami CF Powers By New York City FC

     Inter Miami CF outlasted New York City FC 3-2 at Yankee Stadium on Sunday. Both teams faced each other in the Eastern Conference Finals last year.
     The Herons finished off their five-game Major League Soccer road trip to start the regular season. The next MLS contest for Inter Miami CF will be their first home game ever at their new venue Nu Stadium in Miami on April 4 versus Austin FC. 
     In the first half,  Inter Miami CF(3-1-1) rocketed out to a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute of play. Gonzalo Lujan was able to get the tally.
     New York City FC(3-1-1) tied it up 1-1 during the 17th minute. They evened it on a goal by Nicolas Fernandez.
      NYCFC moved ahead with a 2-1 advantage in the 59th minute. Agustin Ojeda scored early in the second half.
      The one-goal margin did not last long. Lionel Messi helped the Herons even it up 2-2 during the 61st minute with his 901st career goal. He fired a direct kick from 29 yards away with his left foot. 
     Inter Miami CF reclaimed the lead 3-2 in the 74th minute. Micael dos Santos gave them the go-ahead tally with a header on the right side from 11 yards out.

Durant Passes Jordan, Rockets Speed By Heat

      The Houston Rockets slipped by the Miami Heat 123-122 at Toyota Center on Saturday night. The Heat made the visit to Houston for a one-game road trip and will they host the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. 
     Houston(43-27) held a 32-29 advantage at the conclusion of the first quarter. The Rockets had a 64-63 lead at halftime. 
     Miami(38-33) stayed in striking distance early in the second half. The Heat scored eight straight points to end of the third quarter and led 96-87. 
     The Rockets went on a 22-9 run to begin the fourth quarter for a 109-105 lead with 5:28 remaining. Kevin Durant passed Michael Jordan with his 32,294th point for the fifth-most career points by a player in NBA history on a three-point shot with 3:35 left in the fourth to make it 117-109. Miami came back with a 13-4 spurt down the stretch. Amen Thompson tipped in a shot with no time remaining in the final quarter. 
     The Heat were led by Bam Adebayo with 32 points and 21 rebounds for a double-double. Tyler Herro stepped up with 25 points while Pelle Larsson added 19 points. 
     Durant helped the Rockets with team-high 27 points. Thompson compiled a double-double with 24 points and 18 rebounds. Reed Sheppard was able to contribute 23 points and 14 assists on his way to a double-double.

Flames Burn Out Panthers

     The Florida Panthers were defeated by the Calgary Flames 4-1 on Friday night at Rogers Saddledome. The Panthers finished off a four-game road swing. The Flames have the second worst record in the National Hockey League.
     After a scoreless opening period, Calgary(28-34-7)scooted out to a 1-0 lead at 7:44 of the secomd period. Joel Farabee put in a wrist shot for his 16th goal of the season.
     The Flames expanded it to 2-0 at the 10:10 mark of the second. Victor Olofsson chalked up his 12th goal of the campaign on a slap shot past Daniil Tarasov.
     Florida(34-32-3) closed ot to 2-1 at 4:17 of the third period. A.J. Greer released a forehand shot by Dustin Wolf for his 13th goal this season. Donovan Sebrango and Tomas Nosek were credited with assists on the sequence.
     Calgary regained a two-goal margin 3-1 on a 5-on-3 power play with 3:01 left in the third. Morgan Frost got his 16th goal of the season with a backhand shot.
      The Flames increased it to 4-1 just 31 seconds later on another power-play tally. Matt Coronato picked iup his 16th goal of the yearona wrist shot.

Panthers Banish Oilers

     The Florida Panthers blanked the Edmonton Oilers 4-0 at Rogers Place on Thursday night. It was a rematch between the two teams that have faced each other in the last two Stanley Cup Finals. The Panthers will conclude their four-game road trip tomorrow at the Calgary Flames. 
     Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky chalked up his 53rd career NHL shutout along with his fourth shutout of the season. He tied Curtis Joseph for eighth all-time in goalie wins with 454. 
     Florida(34-31-3) took a 1-0 lead with 8:48 remaining in the first period. Mike Benning zipped a long lead pass from his own zone. Cole Reinhardt carried the puck into the Oilers zone and through the inner left circle. He placed in a forehand shot from the blue paint by Connor Ingram for his first goal in a Panthers uniform. 
     The Panthers extended their lead to 2-0 with 58 seconds left in the first. Evan Rodrigues angled a pass from the right wing. Benning shot the puck from the top of the zone and A.J. Greer deflected in a shot from the low slot for his 12th tally this year. 
     In the second period, the Cats make it 3-0 on the power play with 5:39 to go. Rodrigues kicked the puck in the crease area and Sam Bennett slid it across. Anton Lundell collected his 18th goal this season on a wrist shot from the low slot. 
     Edmonton(34-27-9) surrendered another goal with 4:37 remaining in the final period and trailed 4-0. Bennett won the faceoff in the left circle and Matthew Tkachuk centered the puck from the left wing. 
Carter Verhaeghe snapped a shot from the top left circle for his 20th goal of the campaign. It was the fifth consecutive season that Verhaeghe reached the 20-goal plateau. 

LeBron James & Lakers Outduel Heat

     LeBron James compiled a triple-double as the Los Angeles Lakers outscored the Miami Heat 134-126 at Kaseya Center on Thursday night. The Lakers, who extended their winning streak to eight games, made the long trip to South Florida after playing in Houston last night. The Heat lost their third straight contest. 
     The Heat have won seven of the last 12 meetings versus the Lakers since they faced each other in the 2020 NBA Finals. Miami has been victorious in 21 of their past 34 games against Los Angeles. 
     Miami(38-32) had a 9-2 spurt at the end of the first quarter and exploded out to a 42-29 advantage after one quarter. The Heat remained in front with a 65-59 halftime lead. 
     Los Angeles(45-25) outscored the Heat 38-23 during the third quarter and led 97-88 after three quarters. The Lakers got it near a double-digit margin 111-102 with 5:39 to go in the fourth. They made it 129-121 with 1:01 remaining in the final quarter. 
     Bam Adebayo chalked up a double-double finishing with a team-high 18 points and 10 rebounds for Miami. Tyler Herro had 21 points and eight rebounds. Norman Powell contributed 20 points while Davion Mitchell poured in 16 points. 
     The Lakers were led by James as he composed 19 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists for a triple-double. It was the 124th triple-double by James in his NBA-record, 23-year career. It was also his second career triple-double playing against the Heat. Luka Doncic ended up with a game-high 60 points along with seven rebounds. It was the ninth time in his NBA career that he has scored at least 50 points in a game. Austin Reaves was able to drain in 18 points for the Los Angeles.

Lionel Messi 900th Goal, Inter Miami CF Eliminated

     Lionel Messi scored his 900th goal of his career as Inter Miami CF was knocked off by Nashville SC 1-1 in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16 at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday night. The Herons lost with a 1-1 aggregate due to a Nashville SC away tally.  
     This might be the final game that the reigning MLS Cup champions Inter Miami CF will ever host in Broward County. The team is expected to play their next home game at their new venue Nu Stadium in Miami against Austin FC on April 4. 
     Inter Miami CF rolled out to a 1-0 lead during the seventh minute. Messi collected his 900th career goal as he scored from nine yards away with a left-footed shot. It was Messi's 81st goal in 93 games since joining the Herons in July 2023. 
     In the second half, Nashville SC evened it up 1-1 in the 74th minute. Cristian Espinoza half-volleyed a right-footed shot from four yards out. 

Marquise Hollywood Brown To Eagles

     One-time Broward County high school football player Marquise "Hollywood" Brown has agreed to a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. The deal is worth $6.5 million. 
     Brown played high school football with the Chaminade-Madonna Lions. He eventually participated with the University of Oklahoma Sooners in college football. 
     He was selected 25th overall in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. Brown was with the Ravens from 2019 until 2021, the Arizona Cardinals from 2022 to 2023 and the Kansas City Chiefs from 2024 to 2025. He has 371 catches for 4,322 receiving yards and 33 touchdowns in 90 career NFL games.

Jupiter Links GC Topples Boston Common Golf

      The fourth-seeded Jupiter Links GC upset first-seeded Boston Common Golf 9-5 in the SoFi Cup semifinals at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens on Tuesday night. It was the first playoff appearance by Jupiter Links GC. They will challenge Los Angeles Golf Club for the SoFi Cup championship in a best-of-three series beginning on March 23.
     Jupiter Links GC leaped to the lead 4-3 during the ninth hole. Tom Kim was able to putt in a four-foot birdie to give his team their first lead of the event. 
     Jupiter, guided by coach Tiger Woods, threw the hammer down for the 10th hole and gained two more points for a 6-3 lead. Rory McIlroy missed an eight-foot putt for a birdie and Boston lost the hole. 
     Boston Common Golf used the hammer on the 11th hole. It did not work as both teams ended up tying the hole. 
     Jupiter Links GC clinched the victory on the 13th hole. Max Noma was able to place in a four-foot putt to get the win. 

Dolphins Trade Jaylen Waddle

      The Miami Dolphins have traded wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and a 2026 fourth-round pick to the Denver Broncos. The Fins receive back a 2026 first-round pick(30th overall) along with a 2026 third-round pick and 2026 fourth-round pick.
      Waddle played five seasons with the Dolphins from 2021 to 2025. He had 373 pass receptions for 5,039 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns in 78 games.

United States Loses 2026 World Baseball Classic

     The United States lost to Venezuela 3-2 in the 2026 World Baseball Classic championship game at loanDepot park in Miami on Tuesday night. Venezuela won their first World Baseball Classic title in the 20-year history of the event. The United States made their third consecutive appearance in the title contest. 
     Venezuela got up 2-0 by the middle of the contest. They made it 1-0 in the top of the third on a sacrifice fly by Maikel Garcia to score Salvador Perez. Wilyer Abreu socked a solo home run to center field on a 0-1 count in the top of the fifth.
     The United States tied the game up 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth. Bryce Harper hammered a two-out, two-run homer to center field on a 1-0 pitch with Bobby Witt Jr. on base.
     In the ninth inning, Venezuela regained the lead 3-2. Eugenio Suarez doubled into the left-center field gap and Javier Sanoja crossed the plate for the go-ahead run. 

Canucks Can Panthers

     The Florida Panthers fell to the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 at Rogers Arena on Tuesday night. The Panthers continued their four-game road trip. 
     Vancouver(21-38-8) has the worst record in the National Hockey League. Florida(33-31-3) dropped to second-to-last in the Eastern Conference. They are 13 points behind for the final playoff spot with 15 games remaining. 
     The Cats will visit the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. Both teams have met each other in the Stanley Cup Final during the past two years with the Panthers victorious in both series. 
     Nolan Foote made his Florida debut tonight on left wing. Panthers defenseman Seth Jones made his first appearance with the club since the 2026 Winter Classic in Miami on January 2. 

Heat Bombed By Hornets

     The Miami Heat were disposed of by the Charlotte Hornets 136-106 Tuesday night at Spectrum Center. The Heat will host LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. 
     Charlotte(35-34) had a slim 26-24 lead by the end of the first quarter. Miami(38-31) kept up with the pace during the second quarter and trailed 59-57 at halftime. 
     The Heat fell more behind 96-88 at the conclusion of the third quarter. The Hornets outscored their opponent 40-18 in the final quarter. 
     Tyler Herro collected a club-high 20 points for Miami. Norman Powell poured in 17 points while Pelle Larsson answered with 14 points. Keshad Johnson had an impressive 15 points in the contest. 
     LaMelo Ball led Charlotte with a game-high 30 points and Coby White came off the bench with 24 points. Miles Bridges compiled a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Ron Knueppel was able to drain in 22 points.

David Ojabo Signs With Dolphins

     The Miami Dolphins have signed linebacker David Ojabo to a contract. He looks to improve the Fins defense. 
     Ojabo has participated his entire four-year NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens. He played in 32 games with them and started just one contest. 

United States Defeats Dominican Republic

     The United States knocked off the Dominican Republic 2-1 in the World Baseball Classic semifinal game at loanDepot park in Miami on Sunday night. USA advanced to the 2026 World Baseball Classic final to be played on Tuesday night at the same venue. It was the third straight time in  theWorld Baseball Classic that the United States reached the title contest. 
     The Dominican Republic drew first blood to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Junior Caminero blasted a home run off USA pitcher Paul Skenes.

Dolphins Ink Jamaree Salyer

     The Miami Dolphins increased their roster by signing offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer. He played 64 games with the Los Angeles Chargers over the past four seasons. 

Jalen Tolbert Jumps To Dolphins

     Wide receiver Jalen Tolbert is heading to the Miami Dolphins. He is expected to sign a one-year contract with the team. 
     Tolbert has played his entire four-year NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys. He made 91 catches for 1,093 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in 55 contests with Dallas. 

Kraken Eat Up Panthers

     The Seattle Kraken clobbered the Florida Panthers 6-2 at Climate Pledge Arena on Sunday night. The Panthers started a four-game road trip. The Cats entered the contest on a three-game winning streak. 
     Seattle(30-26-9) bolted out to a 1-0 lead at the 5:28 mark of the opening period. Ben Myers deflected in a shot past Daniil Tarasov for his seventh tally of the year. 
     It became 2-0 for the Kraken with 8:08 to go in the first period. Berkly Catton placed in a wrist shot for his sixth goal in 2025-26. 
     Florida(33-30-3) closed it to 2-1 with 7:53 remaining in the period. Vinnie Hinostroza collected his fifth goal this season on a forehand shot by Joey Daccord. Luke Kunin and Jesper Boqvist were credited with assists on the play. 
     Seattle made it 3-1 with 1:36 left in the first. Ryan Winterton was able to bat in the puck into the cage for his fourth goal this year. 
     In the second period, the Kraken expanded their margin to 4-1 at 3:20. Kaapo Kakko chalked up his 10th goal of the season when he released a wrist shot. 
     Seattle added two more goals midway through the third period for a commanding 6-1 advantage. Bobby McMann scored on the power play with 9:53 remaining and Jamie Olesiak found the net with 5:23 left. 
     The Panthers cut it to 6-2 with one second remaining in the contest. Eetu Luostarinen scored his eighth goal this season on a backhand shot. Gustav Forsling and Mackie Samoskevich picked up the assists on the sequence.

Giants Adding Elijah Campbell

     The New York Giants have picked up defensive back Elijah Campbell. It was another free agent signing for that organization. 
     Campbell played in 65 games during the past five seasons with the Miami Dolphins from 2021 until 2025. He entered the NFL with the New York Jets in 2020. 

Inter Miami CF Tie Charlotte FC

     Inter Miami CF drew with Charlotte FC 0-0 at Bank Of America Stadium on Saturday night. The Herons will play their first home game in South Florida on Wednesday versus Nashville SC in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16. 
     Neither team scored during the contest. Inter Miami CF(2-1-1) tied for the second time this week in all competitions. Charlotte FC is now 1-1-2 this season.

Magic Snap Heat

     The Miami Heat lost to the Orlando Magic 121-117 at Kaseya Center on Saturday night. The Heat had their seven-game winning streak snapped. The Magic swept the regular season series 5-0 in 2025-26. 
     Orlando(38-28) motored out to a 41-27 advantage at the conclusion of the first quarter. The Magic kept the pressure on in the second half and led 71-55 at halftime.
     Miami(38-30) found themselves trailing 98-83 at the end of the third quarter. The Heat closed a 16-point deficit to 117-115 with 18.5 seconds remaining in the final quarter. 
     Jaime Jaquez Jr. chalked up a team-high 22 points for Miami. Bam Adebayo and Norman Powell both dropped in 20 points each. Kel'el Ware composed a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. 
     Paolo Banchero guided the Magic with a game-high 27 points and eight rebounds in the victory. Desmond Bane added 21 points while Wendell Carter Jr. scored 15 points.

Marco Wilson Back In South Florida

     Marco Wilson has inked a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. It is a homecoming for Wilson in South Florida. 
     He was a defensive back for the American Heritage Patriots in high school football. Wilson contributed to them winning a FHSAA Class 5A state title in 2016. 

Tutu Atwell Returns To Miami

     Former Dade County high school football player and current NFL wide receiver Tutu Atwell has returned to the city of Miami. He has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins.
     Atwell was a quarterback for the Miami Northwestern Bulls. He led them to a FHSAA Class 6A state championship in 2017.
     He joined the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. Atwell won a Super Bowl championship with them when they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

MLB Network Hires Eric Hosmer

     MLB Network has brought in Eric Hosmer as their new baseball studio analyst. He will make segment appearances on many of their programs. 
     Hosmer played high school baseball with the American Heritage Patriots in Plantation. He was selected in the first round third overall in the 2008 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals.  
     He played seven seasons with the Royals organization as a first baseman. Hosmer helped that franchise capture the 2015 World Series title and two American League championships. 

Panthers Get By Blue Jackets

     The Florida Panthers passed by the Columbus Blue Jackets 2-1 in overtime at Amerant Bank Arena on Thursday night. Panthers defenseman Mike Benning made his NHL debut. His father Brian Benning participated with Florida during their first two seasons in franchise history in 1993-94 and 1994-95. They became the third father-son tandem to play for the team. 
     The Panthers closed to nine points from eighth place in the Eastern Conference. The Cats will begin a four-game road trip on Sunday and not return to Sunrise until March 24. 
     After no scoring in the opening frame. Columbus(33-21-11) took a 1-0 lead with 6:59 remaining in second period. Mason Marchment sent a lead pass from his own zone. Adam Fantilli released a wrist shot from the right-circle dot past Sergei Bobrovsky for his 19th goal of the season.
     Florida(33-29-3) evened it up 1-1 with the man advantage at the 1:28 mark of the third period. Mackie Samoskevich pushed the puck from the top left circle. Sam Reinhart centered it from the left goal line and Sam Bennett steered a forehand shot from the right side of the crease for his 24th goal of the campaign. 
     In overtime, the Panthers won the game on the power play at 2:19. Benning sent a cross-ice pass from the top left circle and Matthew Tkachuk made a diagonal pass from the top right circle. Reinhart snapped a shot from below the left circle for his 29th goal in 2025-26. Benning collected his first NHL assist and first NHL point on the play. 

Heat Avoid Bucks

     The Miami Heat held off the Milwaukee Bucks 112-105 on Thursday night at Kaseya Center. It was the Heat's first contest since Bam Adebayo scored 83 points on Tuesday against the Washington Wizards. The Heat won the season series over the Bucks for the first time since the 2019-20 season. They extended their winning streak up to season-high seven games. 
     Miami(38-29) ripped out with a 23-10 spurt and were ahead 31-21 at the end of the first quarter. The Heat stayed in front 59-51 at halftime.
     Milwaukee(27-38) attempted to close the margin and were down 85-77 at the conclusion of the third quarter. The Bucks cut the deficit during the final quarter and came within two points 103-101 with 2:26 left. 
     Pelle Larsson dropped in a career-high 28 points for Heat while Adebayo contributed 21 points and eight rebounds. Kasparas Jakucionis compiled 18 points and Davion Mitchell scored 13 points. 
     Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored the first 10 points in the contest for the Bucks, finished with xx points and xx rebounds. Two players came off the bench for Milwaukee as Bobby Portis drained in xx points and Ryan Rollins had xx points along with xx assists for a double-double.

No Inter Miami CF Non-MLS Games On ESPN West Palm

     ESPN West Palm 106.3 WESP-FM did not broadcast the Inter Miami CF CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16 first-leg game against Nashville SC on their airwaves tonight. It is the second straight year that the Inter Miami CF English-language flagship station did it. 
     The agreement between the soccer team and the radio station is that only Major League Soccer regular season and postseason contests can be broadcast. Inter Miami CF games in the CONCACAF Championship Cup, Leagues Cup and FIFA World Club Cup competitions can not be aired. 

Bradley Chubb Moves To Bills

     Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Bradley Chubb has shuffled off to the Buffalo Bills. It is a three-year contract that is worth $43.5 million.
     Chubb spent the past four seasons with the Dolphins organization. He ended up participating in 41 contests with the team. 

Jonathan Ford Returning To Packers

     One-time Dillard Panthers defensive lineman Jonathan Ford is returning to the Green Bay Packers. He has inked a one-year contract with the club. 
     Ford was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Packers. After spending a couple of years on the Packers practice squad, he made his NFL debut with the Chicago Bears in 2024. Ford split his time between the Bears and the  Packers last season. 

Channing Tindal Heading To Falcons

     Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Tindal has agreed to a contract with the Atlanta Falcons. He was with the Arizona Cardinals in 2025. 
     Tindal broke into the NFL with the Dolphins when they choose him in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He played 44 contests in three seasons with the Fins. 

Ravens Add Durham Smythe

     The Baltimore Ravens have added tight end Durham Smythe to their roster. He spent last season with the Chicago Bears. 
     Smythe played his first seven NFL seasons with the Miami Dolphins from 2018 to 2024. He had 132 pass receptions for 1,228 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 74 games with the Dolphins. 

Teddy Bridgewater Rejoins Lions

     Former Dade County quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has rejoined the Detroit Lions signing a one-year deal. He was with the Lions back in 2023. 
     Bridgewater played high school football with the Miami Northwestern Bulls and later college football with the University of Louisville Cardinals. 
     He did play for the Miami Dolphins during the 2022 season. Bridgewater participated in five contests with the Fins that year and had four touchdown passes.

Geno Smith Back With Jets

     Former Broward County high school football quarterback Geno Smith has returned for a second stint with the New York Jets. He was traded by the Las Vegas Raiders along with a 2026 seventh-round pick to the Jets for a 2026 sixth-round pick. It was the second time in two years that he has been dealt. 
     Smith was with the Miramar Patriots playing high school football. He later participated in college football with the West Virginia University Mountaineers. 

Inter Miami CF Ties Nashville SC

     Inter Miami CF tied Nashville SC 0-0 at GEODIS Park on Wednesday night. It was the first contest of two-game series between both teams in the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16. The second leg will be played at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on March 18.

Jason Sanders Heads For Giants

     Former Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders is off to the New York Giants. It is a one-year contract between him and the team. 
     Sanders reign with the Dolphins went from 2018 to 2024. He played seven straight years with the Fins and did not play last season in Miami due to an injury. 

Dolphins Pick Up Zane Gonzalez

     The Miami Dolphins have added to their special teams unit signing kicker Zane Gonzalez to a one-year contract. He is expected to replace the recently departed Jason Sanders. 
     Gonzalez has played for five different NFL teams since 2017. They included the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons.  

Phillies Extend Jesus Luzardo

     The Philadelphia Phillies have given a five-year, $135 million extension to starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo through the 2031 season. He was dealt by the Miami Marlins to the Phillies in December 2024.
     Luzardo played four seasons with the Marlins from 2021 until 2024. He had a 21-28 record with a 4.15 earned run average in 74 games with Miami. 

Panthers Come Back On Red Wings

     The Florida Panthers overcame the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday night. The Panthers completed a home-and-home series against the Red Wings. It was the start of a short two-game homestand for the Cats. 
     Florida(32-29-3) jumped out to a 1-0 lead at 9:48 of the first period. Gustav Forsling forwarded the puck from the neutral zone and Jesper Boqvist released a shot from the left wing. Vinnie Hinostroza. who made his Panthers re-debut, redirected it into the cage from the left side of the crease for his fourth goal of the season. It was his first tally and first point in a Panthers jersey. He had no goals and no points in nine games with the Cats when he played with them back in the 2020-21 season. 
     Detroit(36-22-7) evened it up 1-1 at the 3:54 mark of the second period. Andrew DeBrincat zipped a cross-ice pass from the left point. Mo Seider shot the puck from the right point which was stopped. Patrick Kane tapped the puck in from the right side of the crease past Danii Tarasov for his 10th goal of the campaign. It was the 19th consecutive season that Kane reached the 10-goal mark in a season. 
     The Red Wings leaped ahead 2-1 with 7:01 remaining in the second. Andrew Copp won the faceoff in the right circle. Justin Faulk scored his first goal in a Red Wings jersey and 12th overall goal this season when he backhanded a shot from the left-circle dot. 
     The Panthers tied it 2-2 at the 5:35 mark of the third period. Hinostroza whipped a pass from the low left circle. Niko Mikkola blasted a slap shot from the left point for his third goal of the year. 
     Detroit answered back at 6:32 of the period and regained a 3-2. Faulk sent a lead pass from his own end and Emmitt Finnie angled a backhand pass from the Panthers blue line. Marco Kasper then snapped a shot from slot area for his third goal of the campaign. 
     The Cats pulled their goalie for an extra skater with 2:10 to go. Carter Verhaeghe made it 3-3 with 1:30 remaining in the third as he powered in a forehand shot from above the left circle for his 18th goal this season. Matthew Tkachuk was credited with an assist on the play. 
     Florida took a 4-3 lead with 14.8 seconds left in the third period. Sam Bennett made a drop pass on the right point. Tkachuk slid a cross-ice pass from the right wing and Verhaeghe placed in a wrist shot from the inner left circle. 

Bam Adebayo 83 Points & Heat Wallop Wizards

     Bam Adebayo scored a team-record 83 points as the Miami Heat blasted the Washington Wizards 150-129 at Kaseya Center on Tuesday night. It was the second-highest scoring game by an individual in NBA history and the most points scored by a Heat player in an NBA contest. 
     Adebayo is now behind only one other scoring performance in league history. It is in second place behind the 100 points by Wilt Chamberlain for the Philadelphia Warriors against the New York Knicks in Hershey, Pennsylvania on March 2, 1962. Adebayo passed 81 points by Kobe Bryant for the Los Angeles Lakers versus the Toronto Raptors on January 22, 2006. 
     He also set two new NBA single-game records tonight. He ended up with 36 free throws made and 43 free throws attempted. 
     LeBron James did hold the Heat franchise record for the most points in a game. He scored 61 points against the Charlotte Hornets on March 3, 2014. 
     Miami(37-29), who now have a six-game winning streak, rocketed out to a 40-29 lead by the end of the first quarter. Adebayo collected 31 points in the opening quarter. The Heat expanded their lead during the second quarter and had a 76-62 halftime lead. Adebayo had scored 43 points at the midway point of the contest. 
     Washington(16-48) kept up with the pace early in the second half and were down 113-97 at the conclusion of the third quarter. Adebayo was at 62 points at the end of the frame. 
      The Heat got a 23-11 spurt to begin the fourth quarter as Adebayo kept on scoring down the stretch. Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra pulled Adebayo from the contest with 1:08 remaining in the final quarter just eight seconds after he scored his 83rd point of the game. 
     Adebayo led the Heat with a game-high 83 points and nine rebounds in 42 minutes of play. Simone Fontecchio finished up with 18 points and Davion Mitchell dropped in 12 points. 
     Alex Sarr had a club-high 28 points for the Wizards. Will Riley was able to contribute 22 points in the defeat.

Jaelan Phillips Inked By Panthers

     The Carolina Panthers have signed linebacker Jaelan Phillips to a four-year contract. The deal is worth $120 million between him and the team. 
     Phillips split the 2025 campaign with the Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was in 55 games during his five seasons with the Fins from 2021 until 2025. 

Paul Severino Announcing World Baseball Classic

     Former Miami Marlins television play-by-play announcer Paul Severino is working the 2026 World Baseball Classic for Fox Sports. He is calling games during five-team pool play.
     Severino was the Miami Marlins television voice from 2017 until 2024. The club reached the postseason while he served at that post in 2020 and 2023. 

Tua Tagovailoa Signs With Falcons

     The Atlanta Falcons ended up signing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a one-year contract. He was released by the Miami Dolphins several hours earlier on Monday. 

Devin Bush Jr. Going To Bears

     The Chicago Bears have found a new linebacker signing Devin Bush Jr. to a three-year deal that is worth $30 million. Bush spent 33 games over the past two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. 
     Bush participated in high school football with the Flanagan Falcons. He led the team to a FHSAA Class 8A state championship in 2015. He later played college football with the University of Michigan Wolverines.  
     He entered into the National Football League as the 10th overall selection in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2019 NFL Draft. Bush played four seasons with them from 2019 until 2022. 

James Pierre Lands With Vikings

     The Minnesota Vikings have added defensive back James Pierre to their roster. He has inked a two-year contract that is worth $8.5 million.
     Pierre played high school football with the Deerfield Beach Bucks. He moved one town north to Boca Raton and participated with the Florida Atlantic University Owls in college football. 
     He became a part of the Pittsburgh Steelers organization for six seasons from 2020 to 2025. Pierre collected four interceptions in 95 games with the Steelers. 

Malik Willis Joins Dolphins

     Quarterback Malik Willis has joined the Miami Dolphins as a free agent. It is a three-year contract that is worth $67.5 million. 
     Willis played his first two NFL seasons with the Tennessee Titans. He recently was with the Green Bay Packers for the last two seasons. 

Steelers Keep Asante Samuel Jr.

     The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed defensive back Asante Samuel Jr. He ended up playing six contests during this past season with the Steelers. 
     Samuel participated in high school football with the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders and captured three FHSAA Class 7A state championships in 2014, 2015 and 2016.. He was with the Florida State University Seminoles for three seasons from 2018 to 2020. 
     He was taken by the Los Angeles Chargers in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 47th overall selection. Samuel played xxx games with the club during his four seasons from 2021 until 2024.

Dolphins Trade Minkah Fitzpatrick To Jets

     The Miami Dolphins traded defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick to the New York Jets for a 2026 seventh-round pick. It was the second time in Fitzpatrick's NFL career that he was dealt by the Fins. Fitzpatrick signed a three-year extension worth $30 million through the 2029 season with the Jets following the trade today. 
     Fitzpatrick was selected 10th overall by Miami in the 2018 NFL Draft. He played 18 games in his first two NFL seasons with the Dolphins in 2018 and 2019 before being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in September 2019. 
     After a six-season stint with the Steelers, he was sent by them back to the Dolphins for defensive back Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith in June 2025. Fitzpatrick had one interception in 14 games last season with the Dolphins. 

Dolphins Release Tua Tagovailoa

     The Miami Dolphins have cut quarterback Tua Tagovailoa from their roster on Monday, which will be effective at the start of the NFL calendar year on Wednesday. It was a salary dump by the team in which they now have $99.2 million in dead money against the salary cap. 
     Tagovailoa was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft fifth overall in the first round from the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. He played six seasons with the Dolphins from 2020 to 2025. Tagovailoa compiled 1,647 passes for 18,166 passing yards and 120 touchdowns in 78 contests with Miami. 

Heat Collect Draft Pick From Hornets

     The Miami Heat will get the Charlotte Hornets second-round pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. It was new compensation to the Heat organization for a previous acquisition. 
     The Heat acquired guard Terry Rozier from the Hornets for a future first-round selection in the January 2024 trade. Rozier has been unavailable to the Heat throughout the 2025-26 season due to gambling circumstances by him. 

Tyler Herro Eastern Conference Player Of The Week

     The NBA has named Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. The time span went from March 2 to March 8. 
     Herro averaged 26.3 points-per-game and 5.5 rebounds-per-game as the Heat went 4-0 during the week. He shot 51.7% from third-point range in the four contests. 

Chargers Ink Alec Ingold

     The Los Angeles Chargers have signed fullback Alec Ingold to a one-year contract. The deal is worth $7.5 million between him and the club. 
     Ingold spent the past four seasons with the Miami Dolphins from 2022 until 2025. He chalked up 20 rushing attempts for 42 rushing yards and two touchdowns in 66 contests with the Dolphins.

Heat Surprise Pistons

     The Detroit Pistons were shocked by the Miami Heat 121-110 at Kaseya Center on Sunday night. The Heat now have a five-game winning streak and began a four-game homestand. Bam Adebayo became just the second player in Miami Heat franchise history to score 10,000 points joining Dwayne Wade. 
     Miami(36-29) raced out to a 13-4 lead to begin the game and doubled up their opponent up 34-16 after one quarter. The Heat remained in front 67-48 at halftime
     Detroit(45-18) could not cut into the gap and trailed 103-80 at the conclusion of the third quarter. The Pistons make up some ground in the final half of the fourth quarter when the reserves were playing. 
     Tyler Herro led Miami with a team-high 25 points. Adebayo composed 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists falling short of a double-double. Jaime Jaquez Jr. finished with 19 points along with seven assists. 
     Cade Cunningham ended up with a game-high 26 points and 10 assists for a double-double. Jalen Duren was able to drop in 24 points for the Pistons while Tobias Harris was held to nine points.

Khalil Mack Stays With Chargers

     One-time South Florida high school football linebacker Khalil Mack is expected to remain with the Los Angeles Chargers. He has agreed to a one-year deal. Mack has been chosen nine times to the Pro Bowl.
     Mack played high school football with the Fort Pierce Westwood Panthers. He participated in college football with the University of Buffalo. 
     He was selected fifth overall by the Oakland Raiders in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Mack spent his first four NHL seasons with the Raiders until he was dealt to the Chicago Bears in September 2018. 
     Mack was with the Bears for four seasons through the 2021 campaign. He was then traded to the Los Angeles Chargers in March 2022 and has been with that club for the past four years. 

Tyler Huntley Remains With Ravens

     Former Hallandale Chargers quarterback Tyler Huntley will be staying with the Baltimore Ravens. He has agreed to a two-year contract that is worth $5 million and is expected to be the backup quarterback to Lamar Jackson. 
     Huntley is in his third stint in the Ravens organization. He was on their practice squad during his second reign with the club in 2024. Huntley was then claimed by the Miami Dolphins and played in five games during that year. 

Inter Miami CF Names New Stadium

     Inter Miami CF revealed the branding name for their new venue in Miami. It will be called Nu Stadium at Miami Freedom Park. It is a similar name to the stadium of Inter Miami CF midfielder and captain Lionel Messi's former team FC Barcelona plays at in Spain. The first home game for Inter Miami CF at their new stadium is expected to be April 4 against Austin FC. 
     The Herons played their first six seasons in franchise history at what was known as Chase Stadium and currently as Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. Inter Miami CF won their first MLS Cup title last year. 

Michael Rizzo New Inter Miami CF Radio Voice

     Inter Miami CF have their radio game broadcasts on ESPN 106.3 WESP-AM this season. It is the second straight year that they are the English-language flagship radio station of the team. The Herons won their first MLS Cup championship in franchise history last season. 
     Michael Rizzo is the new primary radio play-by-play announcer for Inter Miami CF and was their backup radio voice in 2025. He took over the post that was held by Ken LaVicka, who has co-hosted an afternoon show with Josh Cohen at Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM since January. Rizzo joined Good Karma Brands and ESPN West Palm 106.3 as an afternoon co-host with Colin Russo in September 2024. 
     Rizzo will not travel with the club to road games and announce their contests at Good Karma Brands West Palm Beach studios. It is the second straight year of that broadcasting policy between the radio rightsholder and the team. Rizzo is expected to call Inter Miami CF games in person at their new home venue Nu Stadium at Miami Freedom Park in Miami beginning on April 4 versus Austin FC.

Inter Miami CF Moves On D.C. United

     Inter Miami CF rattled D.C. United 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The game was moved from D.C. United's home venue Audi Park due to three times larger attendance availability. 
     The Herons continued their long road trip to begin the MLS regular season. The team visited The White House in Washington D.C. back on Thursday. 
     Inter Miami CF(2-1-0) stormed out to a 1-0 advantage in the 17th minute of play. Rodrigo De Paul blasted a right-footed shot from 13 yards out. 
     The Herons increased their lead to 2-0 during the 27th minute. Lionel Messi chipped an eight-yard shot with his left leg by the goalie. It turned out to be Messi's 899th goal of his professional career. 
     In the second half, D.C. United(1-2-0) closed the deficit to 2-1 in the 75th minute. Tai Baribo tapped in a left-footed rebound shot from three yards into an empty cage.

Dolphins Let Go Jason Sanders

     The Miami Dolphins have released kicker Jason Sanders. He lost his starting position to Riley Patterson prior to the 2025 campaign due to a hip injury.  
     Sanders was with the Dolphins organization since the 2018 season. He compiled 187 field goals made during seven seasons with Miami. 

Cole Reinhardt Claimed By Panthers

      The Florida Panthers have claimed left wing Cole Reinhardt off waivers from the Vegas Golden Knights. He has seven points in 44 games with Vegas this season.
      He spent five years in the Ottawa Senators organization. He participated in one contest in 2021-22 and 17 games in 2024-25.

Panthers Reacquire Vinnie Hinostroza

      The Florida Panthers have acquired center Vinnie Hinostroza from the Minnesota Wild for future considerations. It will be his second stint with Florida.
     Hinostroza once played for the Panthers during the 2020-21 campaign. He ended up with no points in nine contests with the club.

Dolphins Release Alec Ingold

    The Miami Dolphins will be releasing fullback Alec Ingold. He was with the Dolphins for four seasons from 2022 to 2025.
     He had just 20 carries for 34 rushing yards and two touchdowns with the Fins. Ingold was in the Raiders organization during his first three years in the NFL from 2019 until 2021.

Raiders To Release Geno Smith

      The Las Vegas Raiders are about to release quarterback Geno Smith. He spent just one season with the Raiders.
      Smith played high school football with the Miramar Patriots. He then moved on to the West Virginia University Mountineers to participate in college football.

Tkachuk Hat Trick & Panthers Break Red Wings

     Florida Panthers right wing Matthew Tkachuk compiled a hat trick as the Cats outdueled the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 at Little Caesars Arena on Friday night. The Panthers snapped a four-game losing streak. 
     Florida(31-29-3) got out to a 1-0 lead with 8:54 left in the first period. Carter Verhaeghe centered the puck from the end wall and Tkachuk snapped a shot from the low slot by John Gibson for his sixth goal of the year.
     In the second period, Detroit(35-21-7) evened it up 1-1 at 10:56 with the man advantage. Dylan Larkin won the faceoff in the right circle. Patrick Kane released a shot from the high slot which bounced off the back wall. Alex DeBrincat batted the puck in from the left side of the crease past Sergei Bobrovsky for his 33rd goal of the campaign. 
     It became 2-1 for the Panthers on the power play at the 35-second mark of the third period. Brad Marchand blocked a clearing pass in the middle of the ice. Sam Reinhart ripped a forehand shot from the left-circle dot and Tkachuk tipped it in from the left side of the crease for his second goal of the game. 
     Tkachuk completed the hat trick with his third tally of the contest and eighth goal in 2025-26 with 1:52 remaining in the third to make it 3-1. He fired a shot from in front of the Panthers goal crease down the ice into an empty net. 

Heat Outpower Hornets

     The Miami Heat outscored the Charlotte Hornets 128-120 on Friday night at Spectrum Center. The Heat had a rare one-game road trip and expanded their win streak to four games. The Hornets had their six-game winning streak snapped. 
     Miami(35-29) held a 30-27 lead at the end of the first quarter. Charlotte(32-32) answered back in the second quarter and led 61-58 at halftime. 
     The Hornets were still ahead 101-98 at the conclusion of the third quarter. The Heat scored nine consecutive midway through the fourth quarter and pulled away. 
     Tyler Herro fell short of a triple-double with a game-high 33 points, nine assists and nine rebounds for Miami. Bam Adebayo did compile a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Jaime Jaquez Jr. poured in 21 points and Davion Mitchell added 13 points. 
     Kon Knueppel ended up with a team-high 27 points for Charlotte. Brandon Miller composed 22 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double.

Inter Miami CF At The White House

     The reigning Major League Soccer champions Inter Miami CF visited The White House to see United States President Donald Trump in Washington D.C. on Thursday. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were among the players who attended the ceremony. 
     Inter Miami CF won the MLS Cup over the Vancouver Whitecaps last year. The Herons will be playing D.C. United in a regular season game on Saturday afternoon in Baltimore. 

Jeff Petry Traded By Panthers

     The Florida Panthers traded defenseman Jeff Petry to the Minnesota Wild for a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick. The team made the decision before the NHL trade deadline on Friday. 
     Petry signed with the Panthers as a free agent back in July 2025. He finished with eight assists in 58 games while in Florida. 

2026 World Baseball Classic Begins

     The 2026 World Baseball Classic began today. The United States, Japan and Dominican Republic are the top contenders to win the event. Japan defeated the United States in the 2023 title game when Shohei Ohtani struck out Mike Trout in the ninth inning to capture the championship in Miami. 
     There will be five nations in Pool D for the 2026 World Baseball Classic that will participate at loanDepot park in Miami. They include Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Israel, Nicaragua and The Netherlands. All nations will play in four games from March 6 until March 11. 
     The playoff rounds will later move to South Florida. The 2026 World Baseball Classic semifinals will happen on March 15 and the championship game will be held loanPark park in Miami on March 17. 

Omer Yurtseven In G League

     Former Miami Heat center Omer Yurtseven has signed a contract with the Houston Rockets G League affiliate the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He was with Panathinaikos BC in Greece for the past two seasons. 
     Yurtseven played two seasons with the Heat in 2021-22 to 2022-23. He averaged 5.2 points-per-game and 4.9 rebounds-per-game for Miami in 65 contests. Yurtseven participated in 48 games with the Utah Jazz in 2023-24. 

Panthers Downed By Blue Jackets

     The Florida Panthers fell to the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-2 at Nationwide Arena on Thursday night. The Panthers will complete their four-game road trip tomorrow at the Detroit Red Wings. The Blue Jackets snapped a nine-game winless streak against the Cats. 
     Columbus(32-21-8) bounced out to a 1-0 lead with the man advantage at the 5:08 mark of the first period. Ivan Provorov put in a wrist shot from the top of the zone for his seventh goal this year.
     The Blue Jackets made it 2-0 with 9:10 remaining in the second period. Mathieu Olivier deflected it in from the crease area for his 10th goal of the campaign.
     In the third period, Columbus extended their lead to 3-0 at 1:41. Boone Jenner scored his ninth of the season on a wrist shot from the slot area past Daniil Tarasov. 
     Florida(30-29-3) broke the shutout with 9:10 left in the third and were down 3-1. Aaron Ekblad released a shot from the left point and Niko Mikkola redirected it from the inner left circle by Jet Greaves for his second goal of the year. 
     The Panthers cut it to 3-2 on the power play with 5:16 remaining in the period. Matthew Tkachuk zipped the puck from the right wing and Ekblad angled a pass from the top of the zone. Sam Bennett then snapped a shot from above the left circle for his 23rd goal of the season. 
     A Gustav Forsling goal to tie the contest 3-3 was disallowed with 2:28 to go in the period because of goalie interference. Olivier placed in an empty-net goal for his second tally of the contest with 1:12 remaining and made it 4-2. 

Heat Sweep Nets In Rematch

     The Miami Heat pulled off a two-game sweep over the Brooklyn Nets with a 126-110 win on Thursday night at Kaseya Center. Both teams played at the same venue two days ago with the Heat victorious. 
     Miami(34-29) zoomed out to a 31-26 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Brooklyn(15-47) kept it close at halftime 60-56.
     The Heat extended their lead and were up 95-83 at the conclusion of the third quarter. They were able to hold off the Nets in the final quarter. 
     Tyler Herro scored a club-high 25 points for Miami while Bam Adebayo finished up with 21 points and seven rebounds. Kel'el Ware ended up with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jaime Jaquez Jr. had 18 points along with seven rebounds. 
     Michael Porter Jr. chalked up game highs with 27 points and 13 rebounds for Brooklyn. Noah Clowney drained in 17 points and Nic Claxton poured in 16 points.

Heat Connections Working NCAA Basketball Tournament

     Two former Miami Heat members will be part the television on-air announcing crews for the upcoming 2026 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. They are one-time Heat head coach Stan Van Gundy and forward Jamal Mashburn. 
     Van Gundy will work as a game analyst through the regional finals with play-by-play announcer Kevin Harlan and sideline reporter Lauren Shehadi. Mashburn will be in the TNT Sports studios in Atlanta as a studio analyst. 

MacKenzie Weegar Dealt To Utah

     The Calgary Flames have traded defenseman MacKenzie Weegar to the Utah Mammoth for defenseman Olli Maatta. Weegar was dealt with Jonathan Huberdeau by the Florida Panthers to the Flames for right wing Matthew Tkachuk on July 22, 2022. 
     Weegar played his first six NHL seasons with Florida from 2016-17 until 2021-22. He chalked up 27 goals and 94 assists for 121 points in 306 games with the Panthers. 

Kyle Nicolas Off To Reds

     The Pittsburgh Pirates have sent relief pitcher Kyle Nicolas to the Cincinnati Reds for outfielder Tyler Callihan. Nicolas played last three seasons with the Pirates. 
     Nicolas was selected in the second round of the 2020 MLB Amateur Draft by the Marlins. He never played in the majors with them. 

Steelers Releasing Jonnu Smith

     The Pittsburgh Steelers will be releasing tight end Jonnu Smith. He was acquired by the Steelers along with defensive back Jalen Ramsey from the Miami Dolphins for defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick in June 2025. Smith had 38 catches for 222 receiving yards and two touchdowns last season in Pittsburgh. 
     Smith spent just one season with the Dolphins in 2024 and was named to the Pro Bowl. He finished with 88 pass receptions for 884 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 17 games with the Fins. 

Panthers Ink Louis Domingue

     The Florida Panthers have signed goalie Louis Domingue to a two-way contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. The Panthers then placed him on waivers to bring back players from the injured reserve list. 
     Domingue has been in the National Hockey League for 10 seasons. He made one appearance with the New York Rangers both in 2023-24 and 2024-25.

South Florida Falls To 14 Sports Radio Stations

     The number of sports talk format radio stations in the South Florida region has gone from an all-time high of 18 and is now at 14. ESPN Southwest 770 WBCN-AM along with FM translators 98.1 W251AL and 104.3 W282BY in Fort Myers flipped from a sports format on March 1. Audacy decided to combine the WQAM stream on 96.5 WPOW-FM-HD2 with 104.3 Sports WQAM-FM as one station back in January. 
     Miami currently has five sports stations with 104.3 Sports WQAM-FM, 560 WQAM-AM, Fox Sports 940 WINZ-AM. 94.9 WZTU-FM-HD2 and 98.3 WRTO-FM-HD2. West Palm Beach consists of four with ESPN West Palm 106.3 WESP-FM, Deportes Radio 760 WEFL-AM, Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM and Sports Radio 1230 The Gambler WBZT-AM. 
     Key West has one sports radio station with The Zone 97.7 Sports Radio WAVK-FM. The Southwest Florida area now has just Fox Sports FM on FM translators such as 94.1 W231DC in Fort Myers, 103.3 W277AP in Cape Coral, 105.9 W290DB in Naples and 92.5 WFSX-FM-HD2 in Estero.

Dolphins Tender Ethan Bonner

     The Miami Dolphins have tendered an offer to defensive back Ethan Bonner. The Fins have the exclusive rights to Bonner who is currently a free agent. 
     Bonner has been with the Dolphins for the past three seasons. He was able to participate in 14 games last season and had one interception. 

Jupiter Links GC Wins Season Finale

     Jupiter Links GC won their TGL regular season finale against The Bay Golf Club 9-6 at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens on Tuesday night. They advanced to the postseason for the first time in the two-year history of TGL. Jupiter Links GC was coached by Tiger Woods, who did not play. 
     Jupiter Links GC clinched fourth place in the regular season and will face #1 Boston Common Golf in the SoFi Cup semifinals on March 17. The other semifinal will have #2 Los Angeles Golf Club challenging the defending champions #3 Atlanta Drive GC on the same day. 
     The Bay Golf Club(2-3-0) jumped out to a 1-0 lead with the first hole and make it 2-0 on the fourth hole. Jupiter Links GC(2-2-1) answered back winning the sixth hole and seventh hole to tie it up 2-2.
     In the middle of the match, The Bay Golf Club moved ahead 3-2 on the eighth hole and increased their lead to 4-2 on the ninth hole. Jupiter Links GC closed the deficit on the 10th hole to make it 4-3. The Bay won consecutive holes on the 11th and 12th holes for a three-point lead 6-3. 
     Jupiter Links GC dropped the hammer on the 13th hole. They collected two points on a nine-foot putt by Max Homa and trailed 6-5. Jupiter threw down the hammer again on the 14th hole and took their first lead of the contest 7-6 as Tom Kim shot a hole-in-one from 138 yards away. It was just the second hole-in-one in TGL history. 
     The Bay Golf Club threw the hammer for the 15th and final hole of the game. Jupiter Links GC won the match and clinched a playoff spot when Kevin Kisner putted in a 13-foot shot. 

Devils Run Down Panthers

     The New Jersey Devils burned the Florida Panthers 5-1 at Prudential Center on Tuesday night. The Cats continued their four-game road swing. Both clubs have two of the three worst records in the Eastern Conference. 
     New Jersey(30-29-2) had a 1-0 lead with 7:50 remaining in the first period. Connor Brown stole the puck from Uvis Balinskis at the red lint and poked it ahead. Arseny Gritsyuk carried the puck in the Panthers zone and snapped a shot from the inner left circle past Sergei Bobrovsky for his 10th career NHL goal. 
     Florida(30-28-3) evened it up 1-1 with 5:23 to go in the first. Balinskis pushed the puck from the blue line and Evan Rodrigues took a turnaround shot from the right point. Anton Lundell then backhanded a shot from the top of the crease by Jacob Markstrom for his 17th goal this season. 
     In the second period, the Devils regained the lead 2-1 at the 1:35 mark during a 4-on-4 situation. Jesper Bratt centered the puck from the right wing and Jack Hughes fired a shot from the high slot that went off the end wall. Dougie Hamilton put in a wrist shot from the low right circle for his ninth goal in 2025-26. 
     New Jersey expanded their lead to 3-1 at 8:13 of the second. Hamilton angled a pass from the top of the zone. Lenni Hameenaho released a shot from the right point and Cody Glass redirected the puck from the crease area for 14th goal of the year. 
     The Panthers pulled their goalie for an extra skater several times late in the third period. The Devils were able to score twice to make it 5-1. Dawson Mercer shot the puck into an empty net for his 14th goal of the season with 3:37 remaining in the third. Simon Nemec added an empty-net goal from the slot area with 39.3 seconds left in the period. 

Heat Dispose Nets

     The Miami Heat dropped the Brooklyn Nets 124-98 at Barclays Center on Tuesday night. The Heat will host the Nets again on Thursday night to complete their three-game homestand. 
     Miami(33-29) was ahead 34-28 by the conclusion of the opening quarter. The Heat were still in front 69-54 at halftime. 
     Brooklyn(15-46) was unable to make up any ground and trailed 91-75 at the end of the third quarter. The Heat had a comfortable lead during the fourth quarter. 
     Bam Adebayo led Miami with 23 points along with nine rebounds. Tyler Herro drained in 22 points while Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 20 points. Kel'el Ware ended up with a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds. 
     Noah Clowney finished with a team-high 17 points for the Nets. Ziaire Williams came off the bench and poured in 16 points.

Nico Echavarria Wins Cognizant Classic

     Nico Echavarria was victorious in the 2026 Cognizant Classic at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens on Sunday. It turned out to be a stunning comeback by Echavarria. 
     Shaun Lowry entered the final day tied for the lead and held a three-stroke lead after the 16th hole. Echavarria was able to tie it in the 17th hole and pulled ahead on the 18th hole. 

WBCN-AM Flips From Sports Format

     ESPN Southwest 770 WBCN-AM in Fort Myers has flipped from a sports format along with their FM translators 98.1 W281AL and 104.3 W282BY. All these signals were sold be Beasley Broadcast Group to Fort Myers Broadcasting Company back in August. WBCN changed to a sports format in May 2021. 
     It also means several on-air talent had their programs eliminated. That included afternoon host Craig Shemon along with syndicated morning co-hosts David Moulton and Mark Miller. 
     Shemon co-hosted the afternoon show with Pete Sheppard on WBCN-AM from May 2021 until October 2023. Shemon then was alone as the afternoon host from October 2023 to February 2026. 
     Moulton and Miller became syndicated morning co-hosts on WBCN-AM in October 2021 and stayed there until February 2026. They started as afternoon co-hosts in 2006 when the 770 AM signal was known as WWCN-AM. 

Tommy Hutton Retiring

     Miami Marlins television game analyst Tommy Hutton will be retiring from his position at the end of the 2026 season. He will finish off his second reign with the club. 
     Hutton joined the Florida Marlins organization as a television game analyst in 1997 replacing Gary Carter. The team won their first World Series title later that year and their second World Series championship in 2003. 
     He would continue in that role with the Florida Marlins and later the Miami Marlins until the conclusion of the 2015 campaign. Hutton returned as the Marlins television studio analyst from 2018 to 2021. He was elevated to television game analyst prior to the 2022 season. 

Dolphins Let Go Liam Eichenberg

     The Miami Dolphins have released offensive linesman Liam Eichenberg. He did not participate last season with the club. 
     Eichenberg was selected by Miami in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft at 42nd overall. He played in 60 contests from 2021 to 2024 with the Dolphins.

Starling Marte Signs With Royals

     Former Miami Marlins outfielder Starling Marte has signed a one-year contract worth $1 million with the Kansas City Royals. He spent the past four seasons with the New York Mets. 
     Marte was with the Marlins in 2020 and 2021. He had 11 home runs, 38 runs batted in and a .286 batting average in 92 games with Miami. 

Inter Miami CF Outscores Orlando City SC

     Inter Miami CF outdueled Orlando City SC 4-2 on Sunday night at Inter&Co Stadium. The Herons continued their five-game Major League Soccer regular season opening road trip.
     Orlando City SC(0-2-0) took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute on a tally from Marco Pasalic with a left-footed, half-volley shot from 17 yards away. It became 2-0 for them in the 24th minute when Martin Ojeda scored. 
     Inter Miami CF(1-1-0) pulled off a comeback during the second half with four goals to take the contest. Mateo Silvetti blasted a 32-yard shot with his right foot and cut it to 2-1 in the 49th minute. Lionel Messi fired a 19-yard shot with his left foot and tied it up 2-2 in the 57th minute.
     Telasco Segovia gave the Herons their first lead of the contest 3-2 during the 85th minute on a right-footed shot from 15 yards away. Messi collected his second goal of the game in the 90th minute on a direct kick from 28 yards out to make it 4-2 for Inter Miami CF. 

Islanders Sneak By Panthers

     The New York Islanders slipped by the Florida Panthers 5-4 at UBS Arena on Sunday night. The Panthers opened up a four-game road trip. The Cats began a stretch with eight of their next 10 games away from South Florida. 
     Florida(30-27-3) tied the contest up 4-4 with 1:58 remaining in the third period. Sam Reinhart snapped a shot from the top of the zone for his 28th goal of the campaign. 
     New York(35-21-5) moved ahead 5-4 with 30.9 seconds left in the third. Anders Lee was able to score his 14th goal this season. He carried the puck from the red line and through the right circle. Lee switched to his forehand and placed in a wrist shot from the top of the crease by Sergei Bobrovsky.
