The United States knocked off the Dominican Republic 2-1 in the World Baseball Classic semifinal game at loanDepot park in Miami on Sunday night. USA advanced to the 2026 World Baseball Classic final to be played on Tuesday night at the same venue. It was the third straight time in theWorld Baseball Classic that the United States reached the title contest.
The Dominican Republic drew first blood to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Junior Caminero blasted a home run off USA pitcher Paul Skenes.
The United States moved ahead 2-1 during the bottom of the fourth. Gunnar Henderson and Marjory Stoneman Douglas grad Roman Anthony both connected with solo home runs.
