Lionel Messi 900th Goal, Inter Miami CF Eliminated

Lionel Messi scored his 900th goal of his career as Inter Miami CF was knocked off by Nashville SC 1-1 in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16 at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday night. The Herons lost with a 1-1 aggregate due to a Nashville SC away tally.
This might be the final game that the reigning MLS Cup champions Inter Miami CF will ever host in Broward County. The team is expected to play their next home game at their new venue Nu Stadium in Miami against Austin FC on April 4.
Inter Miami CF rolled out to a 1-0 lead during the seventh minute. Messi collected his 900th career goal as he scored from nine yards away with a left-footed shot. It was Messi's 81st goal in 93 games since joining the Herons in July 2023.
In the second half, Nashville SC evened it up 1-1 in the 74th minute. Cristian Espinoza half-volleyed a right-footed shot from four yards out.
