Dolphins Release Tua Tagovailoa

The Miami Dolphins have cut quarterback Tua Tagovailoa from their roster on Monday, which will be effective at the start of the NFL calendar year on Wednesday. It was a salary dump by the team in which they now have $90 million in dead money from the salary cap.
Tagovailoa was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft fifth overall in the first round from the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. He played six seasons with the Dolphins from 2020 to 2025. Tagovailoa compiled 1,647 passes for 18,166 passing yards and 120 touchdowns in 78 contests with Miami.
