Former Panthers Win Olympic Medals
Five former Florida Panther players won medals at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver this past weekend. Goalie Roberto Luongo led Canada to the gold medal with a 3-2 overtime win over the United States in the final game. He went 5-0 which included single-elimination victories in the final four games of the tournament. Defensemen Dan Boyle also received a gold medal for Canada. Center Ollie Jokinen picked up a bronze medal for Finland along with left wingers Nikolas Hagman and Ville Peltonen. Jokinen, the former Panthers captain, scored the tying and game-winning goal for the Fins in the third period of the bronze medal game coming back from a 3-1 defecit.
