Craig Mish Joins Fantasy Sports Radio Network
Craig Mish had joined SportsGrid Fantasy Sports Radio Network as their new midday host beginning on June 3. He has left SiriusXM Radio where he hosted a fantasy sports program since 2010. He will continue as the podcast host of Swings and Mishes on Five Reasons Sports Network.
Mish previously had several different stops in the Miami market. He first got noticed as a producer, sports anchor and sports host at 1700 The Fan WAFN-AM from 1999 to 2000. Mish had a ten-year reign as a reporter, fill-in host and executive producer of Miccosukee Sports Rap on Fox Sports Net Florida from 2000 until 2010.

Giants Stop Marlins
The San Francisco Giants avoided a three-game sweep with a 3-1 victory over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday at Marlins Park. The Marlins go back on the road after a short home stand and travel to San Diego while the Giants head for Baltimore to face the Orioles.

Marlins Handle Giants
The Miami Marlins got by the San Francisco Giants 4-2 at Marlins Park on Wednesday night. Miami has won six of their last nine games.

Erick Falero Leaving WQAM
Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM afternoon show executive producer Erick Falero is leaving the station. His final day in the organization will be on May 31.
Falero has been the producer for the afternoon show with Marc Hochman and Channing Crowder for several years. He recently added duties as the afternoon sports anchor. Falero was part of the program when Hochman and Crowder co-hosted with Zach Krantz.

The Florida Panthers have signed a new contract to remain on Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM as their flagship station. The deal with the team will go until the end of the 2021-22 NHL season. Doug Plagens continues as the radio play-by-play announcer.

Marlins Step By Giants
The Miami Marlins began a short three-game home stand and beat the San Francisco Giants 11-3 at Marlins Park on Tuesday night. Both clubs have the two worst records in the National League.
It took just one pitch for San Francisco(21-32) to go in front. Joe Panik homered to right field on the first pitch of the contest.
In the second inning, Miami(18-34) bounced back. Miguel Rojas singled into right field to score Starlin Castro.
The Marlins took the lead 3-1 in the bottom of the third. Castro knocked in Garrett Cooper and Neil Walker on a double to deep center field.

Big O Show Adds Co-Host
The Big O Show with Orlando Alzugaray on 1210 The Man WNMA-AM added a co-host to the afternoon program on Tuesday. The new co-host on the show is Liz Garcia.
Alzugaray made his debut with the new station on March 21. He had stints as a talk host at Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM and 640 Sports WMEN-AM prior to his arrival at 1210 The Man. Alzugaray currently does a weekend afternoon show on Mad Dog Radio at SiriusXM Radio.

Steve Goldstein Hosts Stanley Cup Final
Florida Panthers television play-by-play announcer Steve Goldstein is the radio studio host for the Stanley Cup Final on Westwood One. The championship round begins on Monday night between the Boston Bruins and the St. Louis Blues.
It is the fourth straight year that Goldstein has held that post. He was a radio play-by-play announcer, rinkside reporter and studio host during the earlier rounds of the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs.
Goldstein has been part of Florida Panthers broadcasts on radio or television since the 1996-97 season. Westwood One will have the same people in the broadcast booth from last year with Kenny Albert as play-by-play announcer and Joe Micheletti as game analyst.

Nationals Top Marlins
The Washington Nationals beat the Miami Marlins 9-6 on Sunday at Nationals Park. The Marlins finish a seven-game road trip on Monday in Washington.

Lockhart Stadium Completely Demolished
The final part of Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale was ripped down this week. The demolition of the facility began on May 8. A new stadium will be built for Inter Miami CF. They are expected to have their Major League Soccer inaugural season in 2020.
It will be the return for MLS to that stadium location. The Miami Fusion played at Lockhart Stadium from 1998 to 2001.

Cardinal Newman Edges Seminole Ridge
The Cardinal Newman Crusaders held off the Seminole Ridge Hawks 14-13 at Sam Budnyk Field in West Palm Beach on Friday night. It was the last two-quarter game of the spring football jamboree hosted by Cardinal Newman. The Crusaders had beaten Santaluces 21-0 earlier and finished with a 2-0 record.
After getting an interception early and returning it to the Crusaders six-yard line, Seminole Ridge got up 7-0 at 10:38 of the opening quarter. Deion McMinnis rushed to the right side and scored a three-yard touchdown.
Cardinal Newman tied it 7-7 with 4:10 left in the first. Quarterback Austin Wallace avoided a sack and found wide receiver Jason Lovingshimer on the left side of the end zone with a five-yard toss.
The Crusaders took the lead with 1:05 to go in the quarter. Wallace fired a 17-yard pass to wide receiver John Catando in front right corner of the end zone.
The Hawks would have one more chance on their last possession of the contest. McMinnis almost outraced the Cardinal Newman secondary and was caught at the Crusaders 20-yard line following a 65-yard carry up the right hash marks. It led to a fourth-and-goal for the Hawks at the five-yard line and wide receiver Renald Leandre caught a pass in the back left corner of the end zone with 36 seconds left.

Blanche Ely Spring Football Jamboree
Blanche Ely held a high school football spring jamboree at Richard L. Williams Stadium in Pompano Beach on Wednesday night. Some of the top high school football programs in South Florida participated in two-quarter games.
The Pahokee Blue Devils visited from The Muck and played in the first contest against the host school. The Blue Devils put up 28 points in the first quarter, however the Blanche Ely Tigers cut the deficit down to 28-20 to end the first contest.
The Blanche Ely McDougle Bowl rival the Deerfield Beach Bucks proved to be a contending FHSAA Class 8A team for the state championship in 2019. The Bucks blanked Pahokee 27-0 and then easily handled the Piper Bengals.

Boca Raton Escapes Dwyer
It was an old district rivalry from 15 years ago renewed as the Boca Raton Bobcats held off the Dwyer Panthers 21-14 on Wednesday night in the Boca Raton High School spring football jamboree. The Bobcats ended up sweeping both games against the Panthers and Vero Beach.
Boca Raton scored to move ahead 7-0 at the 5:17 mark of the first quarter. Running back Halin Elmon rushed up the middle for a five-yard touchdown.

The Indians got on the scoreboard first at the seven-minute mark of the opening quarter. They were able to make a 27-yard field goal.

The Dwyer Panthers got a 21-yard field goal from Brandon Proenza with no time remaining to slip by the Vero Beach Indians 16-14 at Boca Raton on Wednesday. It was the first two-quarter game of the Boca Raton High School spring football jamboree.
The Panthers compiled two field goals by Proenza during the first quarter. They picked up a 23-yard field goal at 6:56 and a 37-yard field goal at 1:20.
On the second play of their next possession, Vero Beach took the lead 7-6 with 31.3 seconds to go. Quarterback Ryan Jankowski found wide receiver Jermaine Dawson on the left side for a 63-yard touchdown pass.
There would be a slew of scoring in the second quarter. Dwyer struck on the third play of their second drive as wide receiver Myron Levy caught a pass on the right hash marks, sprinted by the secondary and scored from 59 yards away at the 5:33 mark.

Randy McMichael Gets Weekday Radio Show
Former Miami Dolphins tight end Randy McMichael has been promoted to midday co-host on WZGC-FM in Atlanta. He had done a Saturday morning college football program on that station since 2015.
McMichael was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He had 283 catches for 3,096 yards and 18 touchdowns in five seasons with the Dolphins. McMichael started in all 80 games he played with Miami. He also played for the St. Louis Rams and San Diego Chargers in his 11-year NFL career.

Marlins Blank Mets Again
The Miami Marlins swept the New York Mets in a three-game series with a 3-0 victory at Marlins Park on Sunday. It was the second straight game that the Marlins shut out the Mets. The Fish extended their winning streak to three games.
It was a quick contest as both clubs completed five innings in just one hour. Miami(13-31) made it 1-0 in the sixth inning. Curtis Graderson grounded into a double play for Rosell Herrera to score from third.
In the seventh inning, Neil Walker led off with a double to the right-center field wall. Two batters later, Miguel Rojas hit a sacrifice fly to center field and Walker crossed the plate.
New York(20-25) gave up another run in the bottom of the eighth. Granderson smacked a solo home run to right field on a 1-2 pitch.

Treasure Coast Takes Boyd Anderson
The Treasure Coast Titans beat the Boyd Anderson Cobras 26-6 on Saturday at Dick Melear Stadium in West Palm Beach. The Titans became the first team to finish 2-0 in the Palm Beach Lakes High School spring football jamboree. They got a victory over the Glades Central Raiders earlier.
It began horribly for Boyd Anderson in the first quarter. The Cobras fumbled the ball away on their first play of the game.
Three plays later, Treasure Coast reached the end zone 58 seconds into the opening quarter. Quarterback Jonius Watkins drove through the middle from five yards away.
The Cobras committed another turnover on a fumble at 10:17 on their own 17-yard line. It took the Titans two plays on their next drive to score as running back Eden James took a direct snap and dashed up the middle from three yards out at the 9:32 mark for a 12-0 lead.
Boyd Anderson got an interception from defensive back Javaris Juste and he returned it 20 yards to their own 49-yard line. Their next possession ended on the Titans 12-yard line due to a loss on downs.

In the second quarter, Rockledge fumbled the ball at the Panthers five-yard line at the 9:22 mark. Miami Palmetto marched down the field and finished the drive with a 13-yard pass from Kevin Smith to wide receiver Keshawn Washington in the end zone for a 14-7 lead with 7:34 to go.

The Rockledge Raiders pounded the Stranahan Dragons 33-0 in West Palm Beach on Saturday. It was a two-quarter game between both teams.

Raiders linebacker Zachary Lovett got a safety at 7:39 when he sacked the Stranahan backup quarterback in the end zone for a 9-0 lead.
Rockledge scored on their next drive with 5:40 to go in the first quarter and led 15-0. Wide receiver Terrance Griffin pulled in a 24-yard touchdown catch on the left sideline from quarterback Avery Smith. They increased their margin to 17 points at 5:40 when defensive end Dasani Robinson tackled the Dragons quarterback in the end zone for another safety.
It led to another score for the Raiders on their next possession with 1:18 remaining in the opening quarter. Smith dashed in from one yard away to make it 25-0.

Plantation answered back to tied the contest 7-7 with their wing-T formation at the 9:32 mark. Wide receiver Carlson Armstong received a shovel pass from quarterback Gerard Nesbitt and raced down the right hash marks from 65 yards out.
The Colonels lost the ball on a fumble at the Raiders 40-yard line with 3:23 to go. The Raiders were able to regain the lead 14-7 with 13 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Wide receiver Ja'Vontae Williams caught an eight-yard touchdown pass in the middle of the end zone from Moreland.
In the second quarter, Plantation jumped to their first lead of the contest with 9:40 remaining. Nesbitt found wide receiver Devin Howard open in the middle on the play and he reached the end zone from 18 yards away. Wingback Mark Anthony Clark scored on a two-point conversion with a run through the right side of the line for a 15-14 lead.

The Plantation Colonels knocked off the Stranahan Dragons 21-0 in a two-quarter contest at West Palm Beach on Saturday. The Broward County schools played in the first game of the Palm Beach Lakes High School spring football jamboree on Saturday.
Plantation was able to score on their first possession. Quarterback Gerard Nesbitt connected a 21-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jacolby George on the back left corner of the end zone at 7:57 of the first quarter.
It was the same combination again for the Colonels at the 2:41 mark of the first. Nesbitt threw a 15-yard pass to George on the left side of the end zone and they led 14-0.
In the second quarter, Plantation extended the gap to 21-0. Nesbitt busted up the middle from one yard away with 3:58 left.

The Miami Palmetto Panthers shut out the Palm Beach Lakes Rams 6-0 at Dick Melear Stadium on Saturday night. It was the fourth straight year that Palm Beach Lakes hosted a spring high school football jamboree comprised of eight different teams that played a pair of two-quarter games. Miami Palmetto became the second squad besides Treasure Coast to win two contests today.
Palm Beach Lakes quarterback Robert Sheppard was sacked and fumbled the ball away at 7:07 of the first quarter. The Panthers recovered it at the Rams 23-yard line.
Miami Palmetto picked up a touchdown less than one minute later at the 6:15 mark. Quarterback Kevin Smith threw a three-yard pass to wide receiver Kentron Portier on the left side of the end zone.
The Rams got two turnovers on defense during the second quarter. The closest they came to scoring was at the Panthers 11-yard line when they lost the ball on downs with two minutes remaining.

Park Vista Stuns Fort Pierce Central
The Park Vista Cobras erased a 12-point deficit in the final three minutes of the contest and overcame the Fort Pierce Central Cobras 13-12 on Friday night at GL Homes Stadium.
After twice reaching the red zone late in the first half, Fort Pierce Central reached the end zone on their third attempt with 56.8 seconds left in the second quarter. They were able to score on a quarterback sneak up the middle from Jake Burritt for a 6-0 lead.
FPC capitalized on a fumble recovery by linebacker Daequan Ambrister at the Park Vista 30-yard line late in the third quarter. They finished a two-play drive as running back Jaden Meizinger rushed 30 yards down the left sideline with 40.7 seconds to go to make it 12-0.
In the fourth quarter, Park Vista finally got on the scoreboard with 2:10 remaining. Wide receiver Logan Hoffman caught a 27-yard pass reception from quarterback Bryson Clark and hustled through the middle for a touchdown.

West Palm Beach Ratings April 2019
The ratings were rolled out for sports talk radio stations in the West Palm Beach. ESPN 106.3 WUUB-FM is not listed because they do not subscribe for the ratings. There was a buzz with the final NBA games of Dwyane Wade on the Miami Heat Radio Network.
640 The Hurricane WMEN-AM rose up from a 0.2 to 0.4 in the month. It was the best ratings for that station since October 2018. The bump was due to the New York Yankees Radio Network, the decent beginning of the Yankees regular season and their new local pregame show hosted by Steve Diener had helped.
Sports Radio 1230 The Zone WBZT-AM ended up with a 0.0 for the eighth consecutive month. The station continued as the local affiliate of the Miami Marlins for the start of the 2019 season and is using CBS Sports Radio Network for 20 hours on weekdays.

Somerset Academy Canyons Crack Berean Christian
The Somerset Academy Canyons Cougars scored a game-ending safety on the final play of the contest to overcome the Berean Christian Bulldogs 22-21 on Thursday in Boynton Beach. The Cougars came back from 15 points down in the fourth quarter.
The Cougars got an interception on the third play of the game. It led to a seven-yard touchdown run by running back A.J. Bates on their first drive just over one minute in.
Berean Christian commanded the remainder of the first half. Running back David Rimes raced down the right hash marks from 27 yards away at the 5:30 mark to give them a 7-6 lead. He added a five-yard touchdown around the right side with 11:05 left in the second quarter.
Bulldogs backup quarterback Julian Knickerbocker scrambled down the left sideline 31 yards to the Cougars two-yard line on the final play in the third quarter. Cardinal Gibbons Ties Belen Jesuit
The defending FHSAA Class 5A state champion Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs opened up spring football in Broward County at Dr. Bud Tight Field on Wednesday night in Fort Lauderdale. They ended up tying Belen Jesuit 7-7 in a two-quarter game.
The Chiefs also played another two-quarter contest at The Furnace and pounded Clearwater Central Catholic. Cardinal Gibbons will not have a chance for a second straight 5A crown in 2019 because they changed classifications and were moved to Class 4A.

Palm Beach Gardens Tops Olympic Heights
The Palm Beach Gardens Gators shut out the Olympic Heights Lions 20-0 at Mullinax Ford Stadium on Wednesday night. Both squads played the first football game between two Palm Beach County high schools this spring. The contest was only two quarters long.
The Gators got on the scoreboard with 1:34 to go in the first quarter. Running back Miles Coleman went through the left side and scored from 26 yards away.
Palm Beach Gardens made it 13-0 at 9:31 of the second. Gators running back Deon Lucien raced up the middle untouched into the end zone for a 10-yard touchdown.
Olympic Heights surrendered another touchdown with 2:30 remaining. Quarterback Lynden Moss tossed a 10-yard pass into the front of the end zone to wide receiver Brandon Watson.

The Spartans got the ball back and scored on their second possession. Willis connected a pass up the middle to wide receiver Roscoe Parrish Jr. and he scored from 49 yards out for a 14-point margin with 3:01 left in the first.

Heat Gets NBA Draft Position
The National Basketball Association held their annual NBA Draft lottery on Tuesday night. The Miami Heat ended up with the 13th overall selection for the upcoming NBA Draft in June.
The Heat finished the 2018-19 regular season tied with the Charlotte Hornets and Sacramento Kings with a 39-43 mark and had the 12th worst record with the tiebreaker. Miami fell down one spot to the 13th pick after the lottery draw.

Rays Shut Out Marlins
The Tampa Bay Rays blanked the Miami Marlins 4-0 on Tuesday night at Marlins Park. Miami(10-30) has lost six consecutive games and nine of their last 10 contests. Both teams are playing a two-game series.
Tampa Bay(25-15) got out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Avisail Garcia lifted a solo home run to center field on a 0-2 pitch. Garcia knocked in Tommy Pham with a base hit into left field during the top of the sixth.
The Rays loaded the bases in the eighth inning. Kevin Kiermaier was able to walk and Pham crossed the plate for a three-run margin. Tampa Bay had the bases loaded again in the final inning. Yandy Diaz scored on a infield hit by Garcia.

1210 The Man Shifts Evening Show
1210 The Man WNMA-AM shifted their evening lineup as on Monday. The show with Jim Rodriguez and The BossLady went from the late night slot from 9PM to Midnight and moved to the evening position from 7PM to 10PM. The show made its debut at the station on March 21. Rodriguez previously worked at SB Nation Radio prior to his arrival co-hosting shows and podcasts with current 1210 The Man weekday producer Sean Stanley.

St. Thomas Aquinas Heads To California
The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders will open up the 2019 regular season out of the state of Florida. They will challenge the De La Salle Spartans in Concord, California on August 23.
Both high school football powerhouses faced each other just one time back in 2011. St. Thomas Aquinas was coming off their 2010 national championship along with a FHSAA Class 5A state title and defeated De La Salle 30-6 at Brian Piccolo Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

Miami Dolphins Sign Mark Walton
The Miami Dolphins have signed running back Mark Walton to a contract. He was with the University of Miami Hurricanes for three seasons and helped them capture the ACC Coastal Division title in 2017.
Walton played high school football for the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes. He helped the school win three FHSAA Class 4A state championships in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
He was selected in the fourth round by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2018 NFL Draft. He played in 14 games last season and had 14 carries for 34 yards.

Mets Get By Marlins
The New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins 4-1 on Saturday night at Citi Field. The Marlins have lost five straight games and eight of their last nine.
Miami(10-29) broke out to a 1-0 lead during the third inning. Sandy Alcantara doubled into left-center field to score Jon Berti.
The Mets evened it up in the bottom of the fourth. Michael Conforto provided a base hit to right field and Robinson Cano crossed the plate.

David Schultz Joins KPEL-AM
Former Miami radio sportscaster David Schultz has joined ESPN 1420 KPEL-AM in Lafayette, Louisiana. He will host a Sunday morning show beginning on May 19. He launched the Shut Up Dave Podcast in late April.
Schultz worked at Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM from 2009 to 2011. He was their Florida Marlins and Florida Panthers reporter along with being a sports anchor and fill-in host.
After working at Ocean Reef Club in Key West as a membership manager from 2011 to 2013, he returned to radio at 103.7 The Game KLWB-AM in Lafayette in September 2013 as the morning host and program director. He program was later simulcast on KXKW-TV. Schultz left that radio station in March 2019.

Cubs Beat Marlins
The Chicago Cubs knocked off the Miami Marlins 4-1 at Wrigley Field on Thursday. It was the final game of a four-game series between both clubs. The Cubs have won 10 of their last 11 games and the Marlins have lost six of their last seven contests.
There was scoring in the first inning for the fourth straight game. Chicago(22-13) compiled two runs in the opening frame. Kris Bryant crushed a solo home run to left field on the first pitch. Albert Almora later drove in Javier Baez with a base hit into left.

Marlins Edged By Cubs
The Miami Marlins were stopped by the Chicago Cubs 3-2 in 11 innings on Wednesday night at Wrigley Field. The Marlins have dropped five of their last six games while the Cubbies have prevailed in nine of their last 10 contests.
Miami(10-26) scooted out to a 1-0 lead during the top of the first. Starlin Castro lined a base hit into left field for Curtis Granderson to score.
In the fourth inning, Chicago(21-13) leaped in front 2-1. Javier Baez knocked in Kris Bryant with a single to left-center field. Anthony Rizzo would later cross the plate on a passed ball.
The Marlins stayed alive during the ninth inning and tied it up. Isaac Galloway scored when Miguel Rojas grounded out to second.

Mike Fiers Pitches No-Hitter
Former local pitcher Mike Fiers pitched a no-hitter for the Oakland A's against the Cincinnati Reds at Rickey Henderson Field in Oakland on Tuesday night. It was the 300th no-hitter ever thrown in Major League Baseball history.
It was the second no-hitter for Fiers in his career. He hurled a no-hitter for the Houston Astros against the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 21, 2015.
Fiers played high school baseball with the Deerfield Beach Bucks. He pitched for Nova Southeastern University while in college.

Cubs Outscore Marlins
The Chicago Cubs waited until the ninth inning to defeat the Miami Marlins 5-2 at Wrigley Field on Tuesday night. The Marlins have fallen in four of their last five contests. The Cubs have been victorious in eight of their last nine games.

Cubs Stepped Over By Marlins
The Chicago Cubs collapsed to the Miami Marlins 6-5 at Wrigley Field on Monday night. It was the first contest of a four-game series between both clubs. The Cubs won their eighth consecutive games while the Marlins lost their fourth straight. The Marlins snapped their three-game losing streak while the Cubs snapped a seven-game winning streak.
The first inning was controlled by Chicago(19-13). Anthony Rizzo hit his 200th career home run as he blasted a two-run homer over the center-field fence on a 2-1 pitch. Wilson Contreras later knocked in Javier Baez on a base hit to left field.
Miami(10-24) got on the scoreboard in the top of the third. Brian Anderson lined a double to the right-field wall for Miguel Rojas to score. The Fish then loaded bases and Martin Prado scored on sacrifice fly by Starlin Castro to right-center field.

Braves Sweep Marlins
The Atlanta Braves edged the Miami Marlins 3-1 in 10 innings on Sunday at Marlins Park. The Marlins have won only two of their last 10 games. The Braves have won five of their last seven games.
There was no scoring in the contest until the seventh inning by Atlanta(18-16). Nick Markakis led off the frame and smacked a solo home run to right field on a 0-2 pitch.
It would be tied by Miami(9-24) during the bottom of the eighth. Brian Anderson connected with a single into left field which scored Jon Berti.
The Braves put together two runs in the 10th inning to go ahead. Ender Inciarte doubled down the left-field line and Max Fried crossed the plate. Charlie Culberson followed with a sacrifice fly to right field that brought in Inciarte.

Braves Slam Marlins
The Atlanta Braves handled the Miami Marlins 9-2 at Marlins Park on Saturday night. The Marlins still hold the worst record in Major League Baseball.
Peter O'Brien returned to the majors and gave Miami(9-23) a 2-0 lead in the first inning. He drove in Jorge Alfaro and Jon Berti with a single into center field.
The comeback for Atlanta(17-16) happened in the sixth inning with five runs. Brian McCann doubled to left field for Nick Markakis to score. Three batters later, Ozzie Albies smashed a grand-slam homer to right field on a 1-2 pitch with two out. Dansby Swanson, McCann and Ender Inciarte all crossed the plate on the play.

Scott Kaplan Moves From Radio
Former local sportscaster Scott Kaplan has started co-hosting a sports show with Billy Ray Smith on YouTube. He recently was the afternoon co-host XEPRS-AM. The organization Broadcast Company of Americas lost use of a leased transmitter in Tijuana, Mexico several weeks ago and last week decided to scrap the radio station entirely.
Kaplan, a Coral Springs High School grad, was a former kicker for the University of Pittsburgh. He broke into the broadcasting business in the late 1990s with Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM as a sports anchor.
He co-hosted a sports show with Sid Rosenberg on CBSSportsline.com in Fort Lauderdale and WNEW-FM in New York City at the turn of the century. Kaplan moved to San Diego and has worked at different broadcasting organizations which included XETRA-AM as a sports co-host, CBS Sports as an NFL sideline reporter, Westwood One as an NFL sideline reporter and Fox Sports San Diego as a studio host.

Michael Irvin Joins Radio.com
Former University of Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Michael Irvin has joined Radio.com as a football insider. He will continue as a football studio analyst on NFL Network.
Irvin, a St. Thomas Aquinas High School grad, had previously done radio work at Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM as a sports host on that station for two years. Irvin began as a midday host with sidekick Kevin Kiley in July 2010. Kiley left the show in August 2011 and Curtis Stevenson was added as Irvin's sidekick.
Irvin was shifted to an earlier start of late mornings in January 2012 as the organization plugged in Adam Kuperstein and Steve Goldstein. Irvin ended his run with WQAM in July 2012. He also once co-hosted a midday program on KESN-FM in Dallas prior to his arrival in Miami.

Marlins End Indians
The Miami Marlins stopped the Cleveland Indians 4-2 at Marlins Park on Wednesday night. Both clubs have faced each other twice in Miami and Cleveland over the past eight days.
The Marlins got out ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the first. Brian Anderson drove in Miguel Rojas with a base hit into center field.
Cleveland(16-13) evened it up 1-1 in the third inning. Roberto Diaz lined a solo home run to left-center field on a 1-0 count.
Miami(9-21) make it 3-1 during the fourth inning. Rosell Herrera doubled to right field which brought in Jorge Alfaro and Jon Berti.
Herrera added an RBI-single to right field in the bottom of the sixth. Alfaro was able to score on the play for a 4-1 lead.
