Nieuwendyk And Belfour Enter Hockey Hall Of Fame
Two former Florida Panthers were inducted into the Hockey Hall Of Fame in Toronto on Monday night, center Joe Nieuwendyk and goalie Ed Belfour. Both players joined the Panthers at the end of their illustrious NHL careers. They were teammates with Florida in 2006-07. Following the NHL lockout of 2004-05, Nieuwendyk joined the Panthers and played for two seasons then became part of their hockey operations for two years. He won three Stanley Cups with three different teams(Calgary, Dallas and New Jersey) in his 20-year career scoring 564 goals and 562 assists. Nieuwendyk is currently in his third season as general manager of the Dallas Stars. Belfour was in net with the Panthers for only one season. He garnered 484 wins, third all-time, and 76 shutouts in his 18-year career that included a Stanley Cup title with Dallas in 1998-99.
