Heat Burn Rockets

     The Miami Heat passed by the Houston Rockets 104-100 at Toyota Center on Sunday night. It was the last game of the 2024 calendar year for the Heat. The Rockets lost back-to-back home games for the first time this season. 
     Miami(16-14) had a 31-27 advantage after one quarter. The Heat remained in front with a 53-50 halftime lead. 
     Houston(21-11) kept up with the pace and led 82-81 at the conclusion of the third quarter. Miami had a 17-2 run late in the fourth quarter and led 102-94 with 33.2 seconds left. 
     Tyler Herro chalked up 27 points and nine rebounds for the Heat. Nikola Jovic came off the bench with 18 points. Haywood Highsmith scored 15 points while Terry Rozier drained up 14 points. Bam Adebayo compiled a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. 
     Dillon Brooks led the Rockets with 22 points and Jalen Green dropped in 19 points. Fred VanVleet, who was ejected in the final minute of the contest, ended up with 16 points.
