Lightning Strike Panthers
The Florida Panthers lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 at Kia Center in Orlando on Tuesday night. The Cats are now 2-3-0 in the 2025-26 preseason.
The Panthers and the Lightning will face each other two more times during the preseason. The Bolts will host the next game in Tampa on Thursday then Florida will host the following contest in Sunrise on Saturday.

The Miami Dolphins handled the New York Jets 27-21 at Hard Rock Stadium on Monday night. The Dolphins and the Jets entered the contest winless. Miami(1-3) now has 10 consecutive home victories over New York(0-4).
Panthers Plunge Hurricanes
The Florida Panthers got by the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 in overtime on Monday night at Amerant Bank Arena. It was the Panthers first preseason contest and first game in Sunrise since they captured their second straight Stanley Cup title in June.
Garrett Cooper Retires
Former Miami Marlins player Garrett Cooper announced his retirement from baseball. He recently played in the majors for the Chicago Cubs and the Boston Red Sox in 2024. Cooper was in the Atlanta Braves minor league system until May 2025.
Cooper played with the Miami Marlins from 2018 to 2023. He had 52 home runs, 201 runs batted in and a .269 batting average in 427 games with Miami.
Precious Achiuwa Back With Heat
Precious Achiuwa has returned to the Miami Heat for his second stint with the club. He signed a one-year contract with the team.
Achiuwa entered the NBA with the Heat in 2020-21. He average 5.0 points per game in 61 games during his only season in Miami.

Tkachuk is entering his fourth season with Florida. The Panthers have captured two Stanley Cup championships and three Eastern Conference titles during his tenure with the team.
Marlins Eliminate Mets In Season Finale
The Miami Marlins picked up a 4-0 shutout victory over the New York Mets in their season finale at loanDepot park. Miami finished with a 79-83 record in 2025.
The Marlins eliminated New York(83-79) from postseason contention on the final game of the regular season. The Fish also knocked out the Mets in the same way back in 2007 and 2008.
Sam Bennett On Athlon Sports Cover
Florida Panthers center Sam Bennett shows up on the front cover of Athlon Sports hockey magazine. It is the first time that Athlon Sports issued a National Hockey League publication.
Bennett won the Conn Smythe Trophy for the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He has been with the club for the past four seasons. Bennett has helped the Panthers win two Stanley Cup titles and three Eastern Conference championships.

Malik Reneau On Lindy's Sports Cover
University of Miami Hurricanes forward Malik Reneau has been placed on the front cover of Lindy's Sports college basketball magazine. He will participate in his first season with the Canes.
Reneau transferred to Miami during the offseason. He spent the past three seasons with the Indiana University Hoosiers.
Inter Miami CF Ties Toronto FC
It turned out to be a 1-1 tie between Inter Miami CF and Toronto FC at BMO Stadium on Saturday. It was a rare Major League Soccer afternoon game for the Herons.
Inter Miami CF(16-6-8) got out in front 1-0 near the conclusion of the first half. The Herons crossed the ball from the left side and Tadeo Allende put in a header from three yards away during stoppage time.
In the second half, Toronto FC(5-13-13) evened it up 1-1 in the 60th minute. Djordje Mihailovic swept in a right-footed shot from six yards out.
Mets Stay Alive Versus Marlins
The New York Mets blanked the Miami Marlins 5-0 on Saturday at loanDepot park. Miami(78-83) will play their 2025 season finale tomorrow to finish off their 33rd Major League Baseball season.

Blanche Ely Eases By Deerfield Beach
It was the annual McDougle Bowl as the Blanche Ely Tigers got by the Deerfield Beach Bucks 14-7 at Richard L. Williams Stadium on Friday night. Both local rivals have been in District 14-5A for the past two seasons.
Blanche Ely(3-2, 1-0) remains at home in a week to face the Dillard Panthers in the annual Soul Bowl. Deerfield Beach(1-4, 0-2) returns to Butler Stadium and hosts the McArthur Mustangs next week.
American Heritage Topples Plantation
The city rivalry continued as the American Heritage Patriots knocked off the Plantation Colonels 28-13 at PAL Field on Friday night. It was a non-district contest between both high schools.
American Heritage(2-3) snapped a three-game losing streak and will visit the Flanagan Falcons next week. Plantation(3-3) will be at Archbishop McCarthy in two weeks.

The Dwyer Panthers traveled down Palm Beach County and were defeated by the West Boca Raton Bulls 53-0 on Thursday night. The Bulls are the reigning FHSAA Class 6A state champions. It was a battle between two District 12-6A teams.
West Boca Raton(4-1, 2-0) rocketed out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Dwyer(0-6, 0-2) found themselves down 40-0 at halftime.

The Florida Panthers came back on the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 on Wednesday night at Lenovo Center. It was a rematch of the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals.

Inter Miami CF shut out New York City FC 4-0 at Citi Field on Wednesday night. The Herons continued their heavy slate of games on the schedule.
In the first half, Inter Miami CF(16-6-7) broke out to a 1-0 advantage. Baltasar Rodriguez put in a tally in the 43rd minute.
The Herons expanded their lead 2-0 during the 74th minute on a goal by Lionel Messi. Luis Suarez placed a penalty kick in the 83rd minute and Messi scored again in the 86th minute for a 4-0 lead over New York City FC(16-10-5).
Phillies Pound Marlins
The Philadelphia Phillies dominated the Miami Marlins 11-1 at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night. Miami(77-81) will not have a winning season this year.
The Marlins had their season-high, seven-game winning streak snapped by Philadelphia(93-65). The Fish will complete their nine-game road trip and play their final road contest of 2025 tomorrow.
Kyle Schwarber of the Phillies hit two homer in the contests. He set a MLB record with 23 home runs in one season for a left-handed batter against left-handed pitching. Stan Musial had 22 home runs for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1949 and so did Matt Olson of the Oakland A's in 2021.

Falcons Release C.J. Henderson
The Atlanta Falcons have released defensive back C.J. Henderson from their practice squad. He signed with the club prior to the 2025 regular season.
Henderson played high school football with the Columbus Explorers. He then went to college at the University of Florida.

Predators Sweep Panthers In Doubleheader
The Nashville Predators swept the Florida Panthers in a doubleheader at Bridgestone Arena on Sunday with a 5-0 victory in the first game and 5-3 win in the second game. It was the first preseason contests for the Panthers.
It might be the final annual preseason doubleheader ever for the Cats and the Predators, which started in September 2011. The new collective bargaining agreement to begin in the 2026-27 season is expected for all 32 NHL teams to play a maximum four preseason games with the regular season expanding to 84 games.

It will occur on ESPN between 11:45 a.m. and noon today. Former Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban will be on the panel.
Tkachuk has led the Panthers to two straight Stanley Cup championships in 2024 and 2025. Florida has won three straight Eastern Conference titles.

Glades Central Bashes Dwyer
The Glades Central Raiders smacked the Dwyer Panthers 40-0 at Effie C. Grear Field in Belle Glade on Friday night. It was a renewal of their annual longtime rivalry.
Glades Central(5-0) rocketed to a 25-0 lead by halftime. Dwyer(0-5) fell behind 40-0 during the third quarter and a running clock was implemented for the rest of the second half.

The Miami Central Rockets came back on the American Heritage Patriots 31-21 on Friday night at Bill Laurie Stadium in Plantation. Both high schools are looking to contend for state titles in their classifications.
American Heritage(1-3) held a slight 7-0 advantage after one quarter. Miami Central(3-0) pulled ahead 9-7 during the second quarter, but the Patriots regained the lead 14-9 before halftime.
The Pats increased the gap to 21-9 in the third quarter. The Rockets answered back later in the frame and trailed 21-16. Miami Central moved in front 31-21 with two touchdowns during the fourth quarter.
Miami Northwestern Mauls Columbus
The Miami Northwestern Bulls defeated the Columbus Explorers 41-6 on Friday night. Both Dade County teams have captured FHSAA state titles in the last two years.
Miami Northwestern(3-1) are the reigning FHSAA Class 3A state champions. Columbus(0-4) has won three state titles in the past six seasons.
The Bulls were up 13-3 during the second quarter and ahead 21-6 at halftime. The West scored touchdowns on their first three possessions in the third quarter and expanded it to 41-6.
King's Academy Upsets American Heritage
The American Heritage Stallions were stunned by the King's Academy Lions 15-14 at The Corral in Delray Beach on Friday night. It was a matchup between two of the top Palm Beach County small high school football teams.
King's Academy(1-2) was able to have a 9-6 halftime lead. American Heritage(4-1) and the Lions both scored a touchdown during the second half.

The Pahokee Blue Devils busted the Palm Beach Gardens Gators 41-21 at Mullinax Ford Stadium on Friday night. Both schools have won state titles in the last 20 years.

The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders beat the McArthur Mustangs 31-7 in Hollywood on Friday night in a District 15-5A matchup. The Raiders have won four straight games since losing their season opener to Mater Dei.

Bills Knock Off Dolphins
The Buffalo Bills handled the Miami Dolphins 31-21 at Highmark Stadium on Thursday. It was the final time that the Dolphins played at that venue. The Bills are moving into a new stadium next year.
Buffalo(3-0) has a commanding lead in the AFC East Division just three weeks into the 2025 campaign. The next game for Miami(0-3) will be home on September 29 as they host the New York Jets.
Atlantic Tops Miami Norland
The Atlantic Eagles doubled up the Miami Norland Vikings 43-20 at Atlantic Stadium in Delray Beach on Thursday night. It was a rare meeting between both teams.
The Eagles jumped out to a 7-0 advantage in the first quarter and led 19-14 at halftime. The Vikings overtook them early in the third quarter and were up 20-19. Atlantic was able to regain the lead with three touchdowns and a field goal during the remainder of the second half.

The South Plantation Paladins picked up a 40-18 victory over the Coral Springs Colts on Thursday night in Plantation. It was a clash between two Broward County teams.
The Paladins got up 19-12 in the second quarter and increased their lead to 26-12 on their first possession in the third quarter. South Plantation pulled away in the fourth quarter and led 40-18.

Inter Miami CF Pay Back Seattle Sounders
Inter Miami CF got revenge on the Seattle Sounders 3-1 at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday night. Both teams met in the Leagues Cup Final at Seattle with the Sounders victorious over the Herons back on August 31.
The first half belonged to Inter Miami CF(14-6-7) as they rolled out to a 2-0 lead. Jordi Alba fired a left-footed shot from nine yards away off a Lionel Messi outlet pass in the 12th minute. Messi made it a two-goal margin during the 41st minute on a redirected sliding shot with his left foot from eight yards out.
The Herons increased it to 3-0 on a tally by Ian Fray in the 52nd minute. Seattle(12-8-9) cut it to 3-1 in the 69th minute with a goal by Obed Vargas.

Bob Ohrablo Trenton ECHL President
Former Florida Panthers business executive Bob Ohrablo is now the president of the Trenton ECHL franchise. Trenton, New Jersey was awarded a new ECHL team last week and will begin their first season in 2026-27.
Ohrablo was the sports information director at SUNY Binghamton during the early 1980s. He then worked as the marketing director, public relations director and radio play-by-play announcer of the Binghamton Whalers and the Binghamton Rangers from 1984 to 1992.
He worked as a minor league hockey executive over the next 32 years with teams that included the Phoenix Roadrunners, Kansas City Blades, Syracuse Crunch, Orlando Solar Bears, Jacksonville Icemen and Atlanta Gladiators. Ohrablo was the director of new business development with the Florida Panthers and Sunrise Sports & Entertainment from June 2001 until June 2005.
Griffin Conine Roberto Clemente Nominee
Griffin Conine is a nominee for the 2025 Roberto Clemente Award. He was nominated by the Miami Marlins.

Jose Urena Ties MLB Record
Former Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Urena tied a Major League Baseball record. He became the third person to play for his fifth MLB team in one season.
Urena pitched in a game last week with the Los Angeles Angels. He previously was with the New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers and Minnesota Twins earlier this season.
Anthony Rizzo Ends MLB Career
Former Marjory Stoneman Douglas Eagles high school baseball player Anthony Rizzo has announced his retirement from Major League Baseball. The Chicago Cubs will hold a retirement ceremony for him at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Saturday. He will become a team ambassador for the Cubs organization.
Rizzo was with the Cubs for 10 seasons from 2012 to 2021 as their first baseman. He helped Chicago in 2016 to win their first World Series title in 108 years.
He was traded to the New York Yankees in 2021. He contributed to the Yankees winning the American League title last season and reaching the World Series for the first time in 15 years.
Rangers Get Cal Quantrill & Donovan Solano
Two former Miami Marlins players have joined the Texas Rangers. Pitcher Cal Quantrill and utility player Donovan Solano have signed minor league contracts with the team.
Florida Panthers Professional Tryout Offers
The Florida Panthers are looking to expand their roster. The Cats have signed center Noah Gregor, center Tyler Motte and defenseman Ben Harpur to professional tryout offers.
Gregor has spent most of his six-season NHL career with the San Jose Sharks. Motte has played for seven different clubs in the National Hockey League. Harpur did not play in the NHL last season.

The Miami Marlins zipped by the Washington Nationals 8-3 on Wednesday night at loanDepot park. Both clubs will finish off a four-game series on Thursday.

Ray Hudson Retires
Former Ft. Lauderdale Strikers midfielder Ray Hudson announced his retirement from broadcasting on Tuesday. He made his retirement announcement on his morning program The Football Show at SiriusXM FC on SiriusXM Radio. Hudson began on that show in 2012.
Hudson will also stop his work at CBS Sports as a game analyst and studio analyst. His last broadcast as a game analyst was the UEFA Champions League during the spring.
He played for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the North American Soccer League from 1977 to 1983. Hudson rejoined the Strikers in 1988 when they were in the American Soccer League and captured the ASL Championship. He was with them in the American Professional Soccer League in 1989 and 1991.
He left the television broadcast booth in May 2000 to become the head coach of the Miami Fusion in Major League Soccer. The franchise folded in January 2002 after winning the MLS Supporters' Shield for the best regular season in 2001.
Hudson would immediate join D.C. United as their head coach one day after the Miami Fusion dissolved. He was at that post until 2004.
He became a full-time television soccer game analyst. Hudson worked over the next 20 years with GOLtv, beIN Sport, CBS Sports and Inter Miami CF.
Miami Ratings August 2025
Miami/Fort Lauderdale sports talk radio stations received their ratings. The time span went from the fourth week in July to the third week in August.
560 WQAM-AM had their signal begin to simulcast at the 104.3 FM frequency on August 7. The radio station is now be known as WQAM-FM and their ratings will be listed there from now on instead of WQAM-AM. 104.3 WQAM-FM was at a 0.6 like it was on the AM frequency in the previous period. The University of Miami Hurricanes football team was about to start their 2025 campaign hosting Notre Dame.
Fox Sports 940 WINZ-AM dropped from a 0.5 to a 0.3 in the month. The Miami Dolphins were involved in several road preseason games. The Miami Marlins could not get closer to a postseason spot while staying third in the National League East Division.
Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM shifted from a 0.2 to a 0.1 in the period. The Florida Atlantic University Owls football team was approaching the beginning of the 2025 regular season.
WZTU-FM-HD2 with the WINZ stream remained at a 0.2 for the third straight time. The WQAM stream stayed at a 0.0 for the seventh straight month.
Nationals Topple Marlins
The Washington Nationals downed the Miami Marlins 7-5 at loanDepot park on Tuesday night. The Marlins continued their long homestand. Washington(60-84) had a 7-1 lead after seven innings.
Miami(66-79) were eliminated from winning the National League East Division. The Marlins have never won a division title in franchise history. The Fish are the only MLB team to not capture a division crown.

Micky Arison Basketball Hall Of Fame
Miami Heat owner Micky Arison was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts on Saturday. Pat Riley, Alonzo Mourning and Dwyane Wade made speeches prior to Arison's induction.
The Arison family has majority ownership control of the Miami Heat since entering the NBA. The Heat have captured three NBA titles and won seven Eastern Conference championships with Mikey Arison in charge.
Derrek Lee Chicago Cubs Hall Of Fame
Former Florida Marlins first baseman Derrek Lee will be inducted into the Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Sunday. He will go in alongside Sammy Sosa.
Lee, who celebrated his 50th birthday on Saturday, was with the Cubs from 2004 to 2010. He played for the Marlins from 1998 until 2003 and won a World Series title in 2003.
Hurricanes Blast Bethune-Cookman
The University of Miami Hurricanes pounded Bethune-Cookman 45-3 at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday night. The Hurricanes remained undefeated and will host the University of South Florida Bulls next week.

Chaminade-Madonna Slips By American Heritage
The Chaminade-Madonna Lions overcame the American Heritage Stallions 28-24 at Bill Laurie Stadium in Plantation on Friday night. Both teams won FHSAA state championships last year.
The Stallions moved out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter and were up 14-6 at halftime. American Heritage(1-1) held a 24-14 advantage at the end of three quarters. Chaminade-Madonna(2-1) came from behind with two touchdowns during the fourth quarter for a 28-24 lead.
Palm Beach Central Rips Spanish River
The Palm Beach Central Broncos bounced back with a 39-6 victory over the Spanish River Sharks at Broncos Stadium on Friday night. It was a rare meeting between both Palm Beach County high schools.
Palm Beach Central(1-2) scooted out to a 17-0 lead by halftime. Spanish River(1-1) was too far behind to come back in the second half.
Atlantic Stops Dr. Joaquin Garcia
The Atlantic Eagles went on the road and won 44-7 over the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs on Friday night. They have shown to be two of the better teams from Palm Beach County as both entered the contest undefeated.
Atlantic(3-0) blasted out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter and led 27-0 at halftime. Dr. Joaquin Garcia(2-1) got a touchdown during the second half.
Miami Central Mashes Booker T. Washington
The Miami Central Rockets destroyed the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes 58-14 on Friday night at Traz Powell Stadium. It was a battle between two Dade County rivals.
Miami Central(2-0) marched out to a 30-0 advantage in the first quarter. Booker T. Washington(0-3) was dominated and trailed 51-6 at halftime. A running clock was implemented for the second half.
St. Thomas Aquinas Clobbers Columbus
The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders defeated the Columbus Explorers 42-7 in Dade County on Friday night. Both schools look to contend for state championships this season.
St. Thomas Aquinas(2-1) scored a touchdown in the first quarter and were up 28-0 at halftime. Columbus(0-2) broke the shutout during the second half.
Braves Dump Cal Quantrill
The Atlanta Braves released starting pitcher Cal Quantrill. He made only two appearances and had a 0-2 record along with a 13.50 earned run average.
Quantrill was with the Miami Marlins earlier this season. He complied a 4-10 record with a 5.50 earned run average.
Amari Cooper Retiring
Amari Cooper is retiring from the National Football League. He signed a one-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders last month.
Cooper played as a wide receiver with the Miami Northwestern Bulls. He later captured a BCS National Championship with the University of Alabama Crimson Tide in 2012.
He was selected in the first round in the first round at fourth overall in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. Cooper had stints with them along with the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills. He finished his NFL career with 10,033 receiving yards.
Phillies Pile On Marlins
The Philadelphia Phillies slugged the Miami Marlins 9-3 at loanDepot park on Friday night. The Marlins began a 10-game homestand.
Philadelphia(82-59) clinched a winning record for the 2025 regular season. The Phillies had a 9-1 lead over Miami(65-76) after seven innings.

Jakob Marsee Rookie Of The Month
Miami Marlins outfielder Jakob Marsee has been named the National League Rookie of the Month for August. He was called up to the Marlins from Triple-A Jacksonville last month.
Marsee had 25 runs batted in during August. He became the first Marlins player selected as N.L. Rookie of the Month since pitcher Trevor Rogers in May 2021.
Santaluces Inches By Boynton Beach
The Santaluces Chiefs got by the Boynton Beach Tigers 9-7 on Thursday night. The Chiefs held a 3-0 lead over the Tigers at halftime.
Santaluces(1-1) will host the Palm Beach Central Broncos next week. Boynton Beach(1-2) will be at home in a week versus district foe the Suncoast Chargers.
Miami Northwestern Takes Carol City
The Miami Northwestern Bulls smashed the Carol City Chiefs 37-6 at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami on Thursday night. The Bulls roared out to a 27-0 halftime advantage. They held the Chiefs to six points in the second half.
Miami Northwestern(1-1) will challenge the Miami Norland Vikings next week. Carol City(1-2) will host the Westland Hialeah Wildcats next week in a district clash.
Glades Central Blanks Palm Beach Lakes
The Glades Central Raiders walloped the Palm Beach Lakes Rams 49-0 on Thursday night in West Palm Beach. The Raiders rocketed out to a 35-0 halftime lead.
Glades Central(3-0) makes a long road trip to Moore Haven in a week. Palm Beach Lakes(1-1) hosts the Park Vista Cobras next week.
Pahokee Topples Seminole Ridge
The Pahokee Blue Devils blasted the Seminole Ridge Hawks 40-7 in Loxahatchee on Thursday night. The Blue Devils were up 21-7 at halftime and added 19 points in the second half.
Pahokee(3-0) will return home and face the Cardinal Newman Crusaders next week. Seminole Ridge(0-2) will host the Spanish River Sharks on Monday as a makeup to a postponed game.

Scott Gomez In U.S. Hockey Hall Of Fame
One-time Florida Panthers center Scott Gomez has been elected into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. Gomez was named the new head coach of the Chicago Steel in the USHL back in June.
He won two Stanley Cup titles with the New Jersey Devils in 2000 and 2003. Gomez had 12 points in 46 games with the Panthers in 2013-14.
Dave Lowry Coaching Flames
Former Florida Panthers left wing Dave Lowry has been named an assistant coach with the Calgary Flames. It is his second coaching stint with that organization. He had previous stops as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Kings, Winnipeg Jets and Seattle Kraken.
Lowry played in the first five seasons in Florida Panthers franchise history from 1993-94 to 1997-98. He once held the team record with the most points during a single postseason in 1996.
Nationals Sweep Marlins
The Washington Nationals knocked off the Miami Marlins 10-5 on Wednesday at Nationals Park. Washington(56-83) was able to sweep the three-game series from Miami(65-75).
The Marlins completed a seven-game road trip. The Fish will start a 10-game homestand beginning Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Jorge Alfaro To Nationals
Former Miami Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro has signed a major league deal with the Washington Nationals. He was in the minor leagues with the Milwaukee Brewers this season.
Alfaro has not seen action in the majors since the 2023 campaign. He played in 253 games with Miami for three seasons from 2019 to 2021.

Andrew Heaney Rejoins Dodgers
Andrew Heaney has rejoined the Los Angeles Dodgers and signed a contract for the rest of the 2025 campaign. He was with the Pittsburgh Pirates this season and chalked up a 5-10 record with a 5.39 earned run average.
Heaney played for the Miami Marlins in 2014. He was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on December 11, 2014. Heaney was dealt several hours later to the Los Angeles Angels. He eventually participated with the Dodgers in 2022.
Tim Healey At Boston Globe
Former local baseball writer Tim Healey is now with the Boston Globe. He has been the Boston Red Sox beat writer since June.
Healey worked as the Miami Marlins beat writer for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel from early 2017 until February 2018. He became the New York Mets beat writer at Newsday from February 2018 to May 2025.

Jon Weiner launched a new podcast called Stugotz and Company last week. Former Miami Herald Miami Heat beat reporter Israel Guiterrez will co-host the show.

Ali Sanchez Traded To Red Sox
Ali Sanchez has been traded by the New York Mets to the Boston Red Sox. He joins his third team this season.
He participated in eight games earlier this year with the Toronto Blue Jays. Sanchez played in 31 contests with the Miami Marlins in 2024 and had a .167 batting average.
Nick Anderson Joining Mariners
Nick Anderson will be joining the Seattle Mariners. He has signed a minor league contract with the team.
He pitched 12 contests with the Colorado Rockies this season. Anderson made 45 relief appearances with the Miami Marlins in 2019.
Tyler Huntley Back With Ravens
One-time Hallandale Chargers quarterback Tyler Huntley has returned to the Baltimore Ravens. It will be his third stint with the team.
Huntley participated in 20 contests with the Ravens from 2020 until 2023. He played in five games with the Miami Dolphins last season.
Mariners Cut Donovan Solano
The Seattle Mariners have released infielder Donovan Solano. He spent the 2025 campaign with the Mariners and had a .252 batting average in 69 contests.
Solano had broke into the majors with the Miami Marlins from 2012 to 2015. He had other stops with the San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds, Minnesota Twins, San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners.
Grigori Denisenko Traded In KHL
Former Florida Panthers forward Grigori Denisenko was dealt in the Kontinental Hockey League last week. He was traded by Lokomotiv Yaroslavl to Ak Bars Kazan.
The Panthers selected him 15th overall in the 2018 NHL Draft. He played 18 games over three seasons with Florida from 2020-21 to 2022-23 and had seven points.
Marlins Blanked By Nationals
The Washington Nationals shut out the Miami Marlins 2-0 at Nationals Park on Monday. The Nationals scored both of their runs during the bottom of the second.
