Miami(13-14) had a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. Xavier Edwards knocked in Agustin Ramirez with a base hit to shallow right field.
San Francisco(12-15) evened in up 1-1 in the fifth inning. Drew Gilbert powered a solo home run to right field on a 3-1 count for his fifth career homer.
The Giants leaped in front 4-1 with three runs during the bottom of the sixth. Casey Schmitt pounded a two-run homer to left field on the first pitch with Matt Chapman aboard. Four batters later, Patrick Bailey singled into right field and Jung Hoo Lee crossed the plate.
It became 6-1 for San Francisco in the eighth inning. Heliot Ramos smacked a solo home run to right field on a 2-2 pitch. Four batters later, former Marlins player Luis Arraez doubled down the left-field line for Bailey to score.
The Marlins added one run in the top of the ninth and closed it to 6-2. Jakob Marsee singled through the left side and Owen Caissie reached home.
