Hall Of Famer Gary Carter Dead
Former Florida Marlins television game analyst Gary Carter passed away on Thursday at the age of 57. He announced games with Jay Randolph on SportsChannel Florida and WBFS-TV from the Marlins inaugural year in 1993 until 1996. Carter recently was the baseball manager for Palm Beach Atlantic in West Palm Beach. He played the first 11 seasons of his major league career with the Montreal Expos. They won the National League Eastern Division title in 1981. Carter was traded to the New York Mets following the 1984 season. He led the Mets to victory in the 1986 World Series over the Boston Red Sox in one of the most famous series in baseball history. Carter was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.
