104.3 The Ticket WAXY-AM remained on top as the leading sports format radio station in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale region for the 17th consecutive month. It was a decent month in which all three local sports stations did not go down in their ratings.
The leader of the pack was 104.3 The Ticket as they remained flat at a 1.6 in January. Their shows have remained consistent even with a mediocre season by the Miami Heat for the first time in five years.
Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM showed improvement as they moved from a 0.9 to a 1.1. The Florida Panthers have stayed in playoff contention while the University of Miami basketball team has more competitive programs in the Atlantic Coast Conference to deal with this season.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM was the same as the station stayed at a 0.3 during the month of January. There was no drop off for them despite the end of the Miami Dolphins season in the previous month.
