James Crystal Enterprises will put up for auction their three radio stations in the South Florida region. They will include 640 Sports WMEN-AM, 850 WFTL-AM and 1400 WFLL-AM. The public auction will be held in Fort Lauderdale on March 2. The organization filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in February 2014.
640 Sports had been a sports format radio station since March 2008. On-air personnel who have hosted a show there includes Sid Rosenberg, Orlando Alzugaray, Jeff DeForest, Andy Slater, Marc Eisenberg, Armando Salguiero, Chris Perkins, Larry Milian, Jon Linder, Ed Kaplan and Hank Goldberg. The station also broadcast New York Yankees games.
850 WFTL-AM has held a news/talk format for over 15 years. WFLL-AM was once known as a sports station 1400 The Fan from April 2004 until May 2006. Prior sports hosts on that station included Dino Costa, Anita Marks, Bob Page and Marc Benarzyk.
