The Miami Heat continued their Midwest road trip with a 100-93 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday at United Center. The Heat will play LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the defending Eastern Conference champion Cavaliers in Cleveland on Tuesday.
The Heat now have one of the top eight records in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls still have the worst record in the National Basketball Association.
Both teams started off slow as Chicago(3-15) was up 13-7 after one quarter. Miami(10-9) outscored the Bulls 38-29 in the second quarter and led 45-42 at halftime. Both clubs kept it close in the second half with the Heat ahead 64-61 after three quarters. Miami held off their opponent in the final minutes of the final quarter.
Miami was led by Goran Dragic as he drained 24 points and Wayne Ellington dropped 19 points. Hassan Whiteside fell short of a double-double with 11 points along with nine rebounds while James Johnson compiled 15 points, six assists and seven rebounds for the Heat.
Jerian Grant led the Bulls with 24 points Two Chicago players had double-doubles as Denzel Valentine had 14 points and 14 rebounds while Lauri Markkanen got 11 points and 10 rebounds.
