There was a new leader among sports talk radio stations in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale region. WQAM returned on top alone for the first time since last December during the Miami Dolphins regular season.
Miami Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM rose from a 0.8 to a 0.9 in July. They did do a special broadcast from the NHL Draft in Dallas.
Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM dropped from a 0.8 to a 0.7 in the period. The Ticket was ahead or tied for the top spot in the market since January.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM stayed at a 0.3 for the fifth consecutive month. It will be the last complete period that Andy Slater worked as the mid-afternoon host on the station.
