Marlins Chase Down Diamondbacks

     The Miami Marlins blanked the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-0 at Chase Field on Friday night. The Marlins, who started a six-game road trip out west, got their fourth shutout in their past eight contests. Marlins starting pitcher Braxton Garrett threw a four-hit, complete game shutout in the victory. 

     Miami(18-34) came off a six-game homestand in which they had a 4-2 record. Arizona(24-27) is the defending National League champions. 

     The Marlins raced out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second. Otto Lopez singled up the middle to score Jesus Sanchez and Jake Burger. 

     It became 3-0 for the Fish in the third inning. Burger smashed a solo home run to left field on a 1-0 pitch for his fourth homer of the campaign.
